We were steps away from the ocean. This is the perfect location for a reasonable price. We were so happy they had a cooler, beach chairs and an umbrella for us to use each day.

The outside property is beautiful. We had 6 people and it listed it slept 6. Honestly too tight for 6. 2 people in our party found another place to stay. Overall it was clean and pleasant. I do prefer working directly with an owner instead of an agency. There was no bedding for the pull out sofa so I called and got an answering service. I called during business hours to see if we could check in 30 minutes early. I was told no, which was fine but they didn't even ask my name or which unit I was staying in. I do like a more personal service but that's just me.

We had a nice stay at AMI. The condo was a one minute walk to the beach. The pool was out our back door. The furnishings were not the best or most comfortable but we managed. One of the beds was like sleeping on a hammock. We called and they came over that afternoon. Unfortunately they could not fix it. They said they contacted the owner but we never heard anything after that.

Lets start with the good. We've stayed at several properties along this section of Holmes beach the past few years. The beach itself is absolutely perfect which is why we keep coming back. As advertised the Coconuts property is right on the beach, a 1-2 minute walk from the back porch of the unit and you are on the sand. The Coconuts property has a very nice pool, the kids had a lot of fun swimming in it and hopping back and forth from pool to beach. The unit was a short walk to the pool and beach entrance. The furniture was newer, the beds were comfortable.
Now for the not so good. My primary complaint with this unit is that it is priced like a premium unit but compared with other units in the same complex or other condos in the same general area it falls short. This unit is a lower level unit opposite the parking lot and beach access. The kitchen and kitchen amenities need updating. There is no laundry facility, save for 2 coin operated machines that cost $3 per load (quarters only) for both wash and dry. The view from the back porch area is blocked by landscaping trees which also block much of the available sunlight, even if they weren't there you'd only be looking at the backside of the next building to the south. So although you are very close to the water you don't have a nice area to sit and have morning coffee or hang up wet swimsuits and towels to dry. The entire unit is tiled, there are no rugs or mats anywhere to shake or wipe off excess sand. The spray off area is out by the pool, so there is no way to keep from tracking sand into the unit. We used the broom/dustpan and vacuum cleaner that came with the unit 2-3 times per day but it was no use, sand in the beds, sand in the bathroom, sand in the kitchen. Sand gets EVERYWHERE. We had 2 issues while were there that required us contacting the rental agency. The first issue was that we discovered that the dishwasher didn't work, they were prompt in their response but we arrived on Saturday and it was Thursday before it got replaced. The second was that the internet stopped working on Tuesday, I alerted the property manager and they kept telling me that it was working but it was not. That was frustrating. My overall take is that there are nicer rentals than this unit on Holmes beach for the same price or cheaper. It was fine but I probably wouldn't rent it again.
