About this villa rental
Wake up surrounded by trees, carry your coffee onto the covered balcony, and settle into the slower rhythm of Chachagua. Green Forest Villa is a spacious wooden home for families and friends who want time together in nature, with La Fortuna approximately 15 minutes away by car.
High timber ceilings, warm wooden walls and leafy views give the house its cabin character. The balconies offer several places to unwind, from wicker chairs and small tables to hanging seats overlooking the garden. Inside, the living and dining area brings everyone together, while the kitchen provides a stove, refrigerator, microwave and generous counter space for preparing meals at home.
SIX BEDROOMS AND FOUR BATHROOMS
The home's six air-conditioned bedrooms provide a mix of sleeping arrangements:
• Master room: one king bed, high wooden ceilings and access to a covered balcony.
• Bedroom 2: two separate beds in a room with pale walls and a wooden ceiling.
• Bedroom 3: one queen bed on a raised wooden platform, with storage and balcony doors.
• Bedroom 4: two separate beds and open storage.
• Bedroom 5: one double bed in a cozy wooden room reached from the upper landing.
• Bedroom 6: two separate beds in a wood-lined room with wardrobe storage.
Four bathrooms serve the house. The bedroom arrangement and shared spaces extend across different levels; interior and exterior stairs connect the landings, balconies and covered ground-floor areas. Please keep this layout in mind when travelling with young children or guests who find stairs difficult.
ROOM TO RELAX AND PLAY
Spend time by the pool beside the villa, or gather under the covered ground-floor terrace for a barbecue and a game of table tennis or billiards. Swing benches, rocking chairs and dining tables make this a welcoming place to reconnect after a day out.
The grounds also include a trail and river access below the house, reached on foot. The gallery shows this separate riverside area, including its covered gathering space and pool, as well as the pool beside the villa. These areas are in different locations; reaching the river requires a walk from the house.
EXPLORE THE ARENAL AREA
Chachagua offers a quieter rural base, with local restaurants and shops nearby. From here, plan outings to the Arenal area for hot springs, volcano trails, hanging bridges, zip lines, waterfall visits and other adventures. Travel times vary by destination and conditions. Our local team can help arrange activities and transport so your days can be as active or relaxed as you choose.
Come for the outings, and leave time for the simple moments: a shared meal, a game downstairs, and a quiet seat among the trees. All are part of a stay at Green Forest Villa.

Loved the house. Full of rustic charm in a great area. Checking in and accessing the house and two downstairs locked bedrooms was a little convoluted. One of the codes we were given was wrong and the WiFi name was wrong too. But we figured it out.The “neighborhood” pool at the bottom of the hill was nice for the kids and we met another family there. They’re also building a basketball court. The trails and river views were also beautiful. The restaurant beside the house was great. We went for dinner one night and then desert another. Communication with host wasn’t great. We had tiny ants in the kitchen so had to keep food in the fridge. They were also in bedroom and the issue wasn’t addressed. Also asked for extra trash bags for bathrooms and didn’t receive. The washer and dryer were outside which is fine, but the washing machines are rigged with garden hoses and needed to move one hose to switch from wash to spin. Needs instructions printed or provided. Overall we loved the house but need to address the ant issue and washer.

We had a wonderful, relaxing, fun stay. The pool/hot tub was awesome!!! The entire home was inviting and comfortable for our family. It was a bonus to have the restaurant close by: they even delivered.

Loved this property. Great place to get some seclusion. The family loved the pool, table tennis and pool table. The trails by the river were amazing as well. I’d definitely recommend this property!
