This property is a “business storefront” and the main floor is an abandoned for sale property. The neighborhood is questionable at best. Run down homes and properties along with abandoned buildings. It is no coincidence that they provide no exterior photos of the property. Upon arrival we left because we did not feel the area was safe enough to stay in. We asked for a refund and the property owner refused as she thought we were too sensitive to the condition of the building itself as the rental unit upstairs is nicely remodeled.

Pictures are super cute online. This is actually a makeshift apartment in the upstairs of an old run-down house in a sketchy part of town. After being at the beach that day we were hot and tired. Very disappointed to arrive to our VRBO that was 91 degrees inside. After 4-5 hours it finally got cool enough for us to sleep. The floors were uneven and potentially unstable. The outside yard is in poor condition as well as the wooden stair case leading up to the unit. The unit itself had an odor. The shower is an old tub which is cute but not stable- nothing to hold on to. The vent fan didn’t work. There is no dishwasher so plan to wash dishes by hand. Would not recommend for anyone with mobility or balance issues or anyone with younger children who might want to jump and play. Not worth the money.

First impression was poor. House was not well kept. The out door furniture was filthy and deck area unkept. The house was clean enough, however, the house needs work. The shower was horrible. The couch was very uncomfortable. The beds were comfortable. The temperature never cooled lower than 74. It was very warm the whole stay. Would not stay there again.

This rental was nothing like the listing portrayed. The exterior was completely run-down, which likely explains why there are no outside pictures. The home had a strong musty smell, outdated furniture, and a dingy, unclean feel. The floors felt soft and unstable in places, making us question the structural integrity. Some light switches worked, others didn’t, and the bathroom setup was makeshift and dirty.We didn’t stay more than an hour—just long enough to find alternative accommodations. When we reached out to the owner, offering to pay for one night and requesting a refund for the second, we were only offered a credit for another one of their properties, which we had no interest in.Extremely disappointing experience. We would not recommend this rental.

Everything was exactly as it said it was online. The space was clean and quiet. It’s decorated lovely and was great for a mini girls trip. Only recommendation is to add another lock to the door that locks from the inside, it would make guests feel safer. Nothing happened but as two female guests it was concerning not have that in place.

The good: it’s spacious and clean. Bed was comfortable. The decor was nicely done and felt cozy. Neutral: the property is old and in need of maintenance. It’s very close to the railroad track and the whole house shakes when a train goes through. The bad: The bathroom situation is awful. The shower is rigged up and secured with wooden post toppers. The frame rigged around the tub was bent and there was no way to fully close the curtain to shower without getting water all over the bathroom. Plus being tall people meant we were taller than the shower curtain. The property needs a lot of maintenance and the deck and stairs are not properly secured to the building, which didn’t feel safe. Overall: it was a decent property but not worth the $300 a night I paid.

We just needed one night to recover from our day at Indiana Dunes before we headed out of town. It was a great spot. The decor is so cute. Beds were comfortable. Everything worked just fine. We had a little trouble with the key code on the door when we checked in, but the host was VERY responsive and quick. Hardly a moment of delay accessing the property.

Four of us from childhood get together every summer for a two night stay at a drivable location. This year we picked Michigan City and stayed at the Treehouse! We had a fun time. We needed two bedrooms and the living area was spacious. We had a fun time in Michigan City.

The property was cute and felt private. The bathroom was not very functional and the shower situation was very old and not good water pressure at all. The beds all squeaked quiet a bit at night and so did the doors. Someone was arrested outside across the street from from the place the first night which was concerning, but it was right next to downtown and the beach so it was easy to get to places and a relatively quiet street. We enjoyed the shopping and eating options. Overall feel of the place was cute and cozy, we loved the deck and all read outside and enjoyed the space. Not as clean as I could have hoped. We cooked in the kitchen and it had lots of utensils for us to use.

Had a great stay. We were there as we got married 5/20/2023 and needed a place to stay for the night. Overall the stay was great! Only complaint would be how uncomfortable the beds were, but that can easily be changed. The place was beautiful and easy to access. My only recommendations would be adding comfier beds, as you pay a hefty price to stay here and comfort is key, especially if staying multiple nights. And adding some privacy to the main entry door as it was a little uncomfortable knowing someone could come up the stairs and look directly into the place. I loved the place other than that and would definitely stay here again!

Our overall stay was great! We rented this home for our friends 30th birthday party. It was close to a few wineries and very close to the casino! The home had age but that wasn't off putting! It was a tad confusing on what door was THE ONE to get into the apartment. But we figured it out and didn't have to contact the owner. I would definitely recommend this to others!

I feel like the couch is a bit small even though it looks nice. Unfortunately i took down the sheets when we where leaving as asked and the white mattress protector had blood on it i know what dried blood looks like I’m a nurse. That was disgusting. The property was clean, and stocked with supplies, and appliances, like the big screen TV. the problems start when we saw the location, we thought we would be a 5 min. walk to the beach, instead of a 10 min. drive, we did not know it was going to be in the attic, we are in our 70's , I had hip replacement not too long ago, and my wife has problems with her legs, and ended up with leg cramps the 2nd day, We had our grand daughter with us and she had to help with the luggage. when we tried to enter the dead bolt was jammed and it took a while to get in, I tried to call the host, but could not get her to answer or return my call, there were a couple of roaches in the bathroom and the toilet would not flush properly, I went to make coffee while my wife was using the Microwave and it blew a breaker and we had to look for the box to reset it, the TV was hard to operate, shut on and off by it self for 3 of 4 min. at a time, and we could not get a local station when the storm hit, My wife went to iron some cloths and there was no ironing board, the thermostat did not seem to work or we did not know how to use it, the apartment was either too hot at night or too cold during the day and had to keep wrapped in blankets . When we went to bed or room was right next to the highway with heavy traffic, with trucks and sirens, there was also train track next door and the trains would shake the house. I went to take a shower and could hardly get in and out of the claw leg cast Iron bath tub, I tried to grab the shower Curtin rod and it would not support me. This was our 50th Adversary and we want something special close to the lake so the kids could walk to the lake. We would have canceled but we did not want to get stuck with a bill and not have a place to stay as that seems to be your policy by keeping it a secret until its too late.
