Whether you're visiting to spend time on the lakes, hike the trails, or just enjoy a change of scenery with the family for a while, Napping Bear Lodge is your key to all these things and so much more! Located just six miles from the heart of downtown Eagle River, this three-story, waterfront gem boasts high-end amenities, wide open spaces, and amazing lake views from inside and out. On the main level, the visiting chefs in your group will find everything they need to prepare quick snacks or elaborate dinners in the well-equipped, full kitchen complete with stainless steel appliances and a breakfast bar. Meet up for meals at the adjacent table or step outside onto the furnished deck for a summertime alfresco dining experience. Back inside, the main living area offers plenty of comfortable seating options, a wall of floor-to-ceiling windows, a warming gas fireplace, and a wall-mounted TV. An additional sunroom provides a cozy spot to relax in with a good book and a cup of tea on lazy or rainy afternoons.
The fun really begins on the lower level of this home where you'll find a second living area with a gas fireplace and large TV, a table and chairs for board and card games, a full-size pool table, and a wet bar! From here, step out to the patio and take a walk across the yard and down to the private dock where you can cast a line and fish for musky and panfish, or set off in the provided kayaks.
For sleeping options, this home offers five wonderful bedrooms spread out over all three floors to ensure the utmost privacy for you and your guests.

Damage waiver: The total cost of your reservation for this Property includes a nightly damage waiver fee, plus tax if applicable (the “Damage Waiver”). The Damage Waiver covers you for up to $3,000 of accidental damage to the Property or its contents (such as furniture, fixtures, and appliances) as long as you report the incident to the host prior to checking out. The Damage Waiver fee eliminates the need for a traditional security deposit.

It's a great location and an excellent house for large families. Home was very clean and spacious. Communication with the property manager was great! My only recommendation to the owners would be to do some maintenance. Some things were minor (like the kitchen faucet not properly working) and others were almost dangerous (like one off the sliding doors coming off the tracks). Also the years could use some better care but hey, you're there to hike & fish, right? Overall a great time but for the price we expected those finishing touches like other VRBO properties we've stayed at.

Napping Bear Lodge is a nice, large comfortable house that worked great for our family reunion vacation. It is situated right on Voyager Lake with a nice pier. We enjoyed having access to the two kayaks and fishing off the dock. We rented a pontoon boat from Boat Sport Marina which is very close by. Good access to Eagle River and boating to the other lakes.

I’ve stayed in houses with hosts that communicate much better. This home is run by a service. I asked days before departing whether there were towels and a hair dryer so I knew what to pack. It wasn’t listed in the app. No response. Fortunately they had both in the house but please just answer people so they know what to bring. Also service/cleaning fee for 3 days was $600. They only clean once (which is fine if you do it right but my cleaning service only charges $200 to clean a bigger house and they do an awesome job). We got there and there was hair and dust all over the wood floors. That had not been cleaned properly. I have a photo from the time of arrival in case the property owner is interested in seeing how their cleaning service performs. It’s a big house so I get that it won’t be perfect, but hair and dust means you didn’t bother to vacuum or mop the kitchen. You can’t ask people to start the dishwasher and pull off sheets ‘to help your staff’ if you’re charging that much and don’t start with a really clean house upon arrival.
In the kitchen: pans, utensils and plates are in good shape and there’s plenty, however no oil, napkins or seasonings like all other homes I’ve stayed in. There was one very small roll of paper towels. No one wants to buy and carry that stuff back. So we ate out almost the entire time with the exception of breakfast.
They do offer kayaks in the shed but they were covered with dirt and spider/webs and since I didn’t feel like cleaning on vacation, we passed on that. As far as activities, there was a pool table which was nice but no games, card decks or puzzles for rainy days like I’ve seen at other VRBO properties.
For $1000+/night for 5 people, guess I expected more. The one saving grace for them was that the day we arrived someone with a new cell number started communicating with us and he was more responsive by text but y’all should have started with that!
