About this house rental
A lovely beach house located on a quiet cul-de-sac just across the street from the beach. Decorated with cool beach vides w/ all brand new furniture in the heart of Kill Devil Hills. The beach is across the cross walk just a 1/2 mile away with free public parking. The sound is a half mile away as well with a beautiful walk/bike path that takes you directly to the Wright Brother's Memorial or you can see sunsets at the gazebo. We have a porch and full back yard w/ and outdoor shower.
The space
We have 2 bedrooms. A king size bedroom and a queen size bedroom that also has an additional queen couch bed in the living room. All beds and furniture are brand new! We have a lovely tropical bathroom with a tub and shower. Full kitchen equipped with everything you need to make a nice meal. Washer and dryer available in the bottom level with soap provided. A fenced back yard and a secure upper deck with locked gates.
The upper deck and the back yard are joined together with a gate on the upper deck that you can leave opened so your pet can enjoy the deck and walk down the stairs to the fenced back yard. Very quite street with a full driveway that has room to bring your boat. Free launch and boat ramp located 1/2 mile on the sound. The grocery store is just around the corner with many local restaurants and cool shops close by.
Guest access
Plenty of parking for up to 2 cars and room for your boat if you don't bring that many cars. You can walk to the beach, the sound, Food Lion, Publix, and several restaurants.
We allow up to 2 pets. First pet is $50 and the 2nd pet is $50. Please message us with details of your pet and their behavior once you book. Thank you!!!
The bottom level of the house is occupied by a very good friend of ours. She is very nice and quiet. She is gone most of the time working. She has a complete separate entrance and does not use the upper level in any way and does not use the back yard. Therefore, the rental of the house, the yard, and the deck is completely accessible to you only as the VRBO guests.

How easy it was to relax at the Relax Shack!! Amber and Brett really care about making their guests and their pets feel right at home. They take such good care of their property. The home was clean and stocked with everything we needed. Beds and sofa were so comfy. The fenced back yard was perfect for the dog. Nice bikes were available to use and bike path is so close. Neighborhood is quiet and is centrally located to walk or ride to the sound or the beach. Also, easy to take day trips to other parts of OBX. We enjoyed experiencing their suggestions!! Would definitely stay here again for a future trip!!

This property had everything we needed. It was very accommodating to our dog with a great deck that connected to a fenced in back yard. It was close to the beach. The hosts were very communicative and really pleasant. Highly recommended

The Relax Shack is awesome! The owners were very responsive and accommodating. If we ever need to rent again in Kill Devil Hills this is where we'll be staying!

This property is absolutely perfect, especially if you are traveling with your pets. The easy, secure access they have to get from the deck to the privacy fenced backyard allowed you to sit and relax while they romp around. The inside is very bright and so clean, and they thought of everything to provide to make your stay seamless and easy packing because it’s all there. We enjoyed walking the dog down to the walking trail on the water every morning, it’s so safe a quiet. The house is centrally located to everything with plenty of great restaurants just blocks away. Amber and Brett were amazing hosts, their quick response to questions and just overall communication with check in and recommendations was definitely top notch. This is a little hidden gem and a great vacation value. You will love your stay at Relax Shack!!
