About this cottage rental
With the best views of Little Point Sable Lighthouse from the expanded deck and from inside the cottage, and right across the street from Golden Sands beach, you simply cannot beat this location. This magical property has amazing beach access right across the street, and the most incredible sunsets you will ever see!
SheriDune is surrounded on two sides by Silver Lake State Forest and has a private fire pit area out back for 'Smores roasting and stargazing. With so many different zones to hang out in, your friends and family will have plenty of space to enjoy from the cottage to the huge deck to the fire pit area to the beach.
The deck is the place to be from the morning cup of coffee on. It boasts a bar height table for 4 and a picnic table for 6-8, both made from recycled milk jugs! There is another "kids" picnic table for activities and a queen-sized day bed with a sun canopy overhead. There is also a Design Within Reach plastic sofa on the deck and other seating for everything from sunbathing to stargazing!
Not to be outdone, the beach is like something you would fly thousands of miles to visit, and most of the time you have the end of this huge public beach all to yourselves.
With 3 bedrooms and a bathroom, SheriDune comfortably sleeps 8. There is a Queen in the Master, a Full-size bed in the guest bedroom, and a kids' bunk room that has 2 seats of bunks.
Simply walk across the street to access the beach via our neighbors driveway or walk across the street to the Lighthouse Beach. We also have a dunetop teak loveseat to enjoy a morning cup of coffee from or watch sunsets from or watch shooting stars or northern lights from.

Overall, a great cottage. There are a couple of things that could easily improve the property. No table lamps. Playing cards, etc, the only lights are super bright ceiling fluorescent lights. Maybe extra blankets. It was cold our first two nights. Hair dryer, a must have for rental properties.

Cute cabin lake house feel. Stocked with everything you need. Bring your swim gear and a dress for a walk is all you will need.

So relaxing. If you are looking for privacy, this place has it. If you are looking for fun things to do, a short 2 mile drive to Silver Lake is worth it. Go for a dune ride, rent a boat or pontoon for the day, go to the shops! Comfortable, clean, well stocked with everything you need, all you really have to do is bring your own food! Great firepit, plenty of room, inside and out. It took 70 seconds to walk across the road to the beach! Beautiful sunsets, hummingbirds, deer, rabbits. Nice getaway for our 36th anniversary! I highly recommend staying here. Kevin is just a text away if you have any questions. We will definitely be returning !

The location of the home is perfectly situated near the entry to a beautiful, sandy beach that could easily compete with Florida or southern California in quality. During the fall (and spring, I expect), there were few people present at any hour except just before sunset. There are sundry, very good hiking trails within a short walk - all of which are devoid of people. To the immediate south are several square miles of open dune-grassland to hike. The home itself is on the small side and has a definite, easy-going, no-fuss vibe. There is no washer and no drier, so a 20-minute drive to the laundromat is necessary for multi-day stays. The bathroom is small, but functional as is the kitchen nook. Rooms are likewise small, but if one's goal is to be outside enjoying scenery, they will work fine. The back porch is nice for relaxing with lots of nice seating and probably the best feature of the home. The owner was attentive and kind.
