I’ve been visiting the Gwinn area most of my life and the location of this cottage is very much a UP camp experience. Lots of outdoor seating space to enjoy the surrounding woods and wildlife as well as the vast night sky. Cook out, enjoy a campfire or relax in front of the TV with a fire. Mitchell is a shallower lake but we were able to dock our fishing boat and channel access to Big Shag Lake is just across the water.

Lots of character on pretty and peaceful setting close to town. Great sunsets and dock/deck setup and front sunroom. Will come back if in the area again.

If we could have stayed longer, we absolutely would have! From the drive back to the property, to the gorgeous layout of the house all the way to the back dock porch swing; we were extremely impressed! All of the beds were very comfortable. As we’re the couches. My only suggestion would be to put some blinds or curtain in the bathrooms. Even though we’re far back in the woods, it’s still an uneasy feeling. Everything else was great!

Great location and great price for being able to experience all the Up has to offer!
A few small improvements and better cleaning and preparation for new arrivals and this Cottage would be a five star booking.
