About this cabin rental
The Walker Ford Cabin sits on two acres right on the banks of the upper Meramec River. Enjoy panoramic views of the river and the bottom hay fields. Bring chairs and sit next to the river, take a swim, dip a worm or just watch the turtles sun on the logs. Relax with a cup of coffee or a glass of wine watching for the occasional bald Eagle to soar up the river. The cabin has been newly renovated and is ready for guests. There is a beautiful rock fireplace (non-burning) but still a beautiful statement piece, kitchenette, a queen size bed, queen pull out sofa and a dining table in the main cabin. The back sitting area has beautiful river views along with a twin sleeper sofa. The only thing you need when you come to our cabin is food, charcoal (if needed) and toiletries. The kitchen is fully stocked with what you may need to cook a meal and the linens and towels are also provided. There are several wineries and a canoe/raft outfitter within a mile away or bring your own canoe or kayak and float from our local access Birds Nest right down to your cabin. Shuttle service available...$35 local access. Inquire for more details. There is a BBQ grill and washers game for your use.

Loved the property. Spent a couple nights there and literally did not leave the property. Enjoyed the view of the river and also the cabin itself is great. If the weather is not conducive to sitting outside, you can sit inside the cabin and enjoy the view of the river. Or you can sit on the front porch and enjoy that as well. Susan was very helpful prior to arriving, giving us details about the area and we hope to be able to stay there again in the future. Susan was a great host and had everything perfect and ready for us to walk right in. There is an outdoor fire pit which we would’ve loved to use, but it was too warm out for a fire. There is also a barbecue pit in addition to a charcoal briquette barbecue so if barbecue is your thing, bring some stuff for that! There is access to the river from the property. The host Susan is a delight! We stayed a couple days in this little slice of Heaven and have nothing but compliments for it! The bed was so comfy and being able to get right down to the water is great. We caught a lot of fish and Susan even rode with us to drop us off at a public access point and drove our truck back to the cabin so all we had to do was float “home”! This picturesque little cabin is just what I mean when I say I want a cabin on a river someday. Enjoy the privacy, wildlife, and serenity at this fantastic stay!

There were only two space heaters.My husband fell and cut his legs on the landscape rocks around the sidewalk.
