About this cabin rental
Perched on a hillside overlooking the picturesque valley below, Hillside Cabin is a tranquil, two-bedroom home where you can hang your hat and truly relax. Surrounded by a working cattle ranch, you’ll have plenty of unspoiled acres to explore as well as the nearby Meramec River to enjoy. Within an easy driving distance to some of the Missouri Ozark’s most notable wineries and close to the riverside access point as well, Hillside Cabin is sure to please everyone in your group.
A Hillside Home Base
Through the front door lies the simple living area, with a plush sofa and easy chair and a large HDTV. Overhead, the galvanized metal ceiling adds an industrial feel. Around the corner is the fully-equipped galley kitchen— complete with a gas range, refrigerator, microwave, and drip coffee maker. Nearby is the formal dining space, with a farmhouse-style table that seats four next to a vintage hutch.
Inviting Sleeping Spaces
Each of the two bedrooms has plenty of privacy and peace, so everyone has the opportunity to recharge at the end of the day. The first bedroom features a comfy queen-size bed, and the second bedroom includes a full-size bed. There is also a sleeper sofa in the living area, and the full bathroom has a tub/shower combo.
A Spacious Back Porch
The large covered back porch overlooks the rolling hillside and the peaceful woodlands and includes a barbecue for grilling fresh 4J Cattle Farm burgers and steaks. There are also plenty of lounge chairs and a picnic table for alfresco dining. The large surrounding yard is vibrant green in the warmer months and includes a circular fire pit for roasting marshmallows in the twilight. Chances are, you’ll find you spend a majority of your time out here, relaxing with a local vintage wine and watching the fireflies.
Escape to Hillside Cabin
When it’s time to venture out and explore your beautiful surroundings, the private Meramec River access point is close by, with a small pavilion for riverside picnics and a bluff for the daredevils in your group to jump off. The river is great for kayaking, canoeing, and fishing, too. Hillside Cabin is the ideal escape for the whole family.

Cabin was very clean and came with everything we needed. The river was flooded unfortunately but we still managed to catch a good amount of fish!

This property was exactly as listed online. A 2-bedroom cabin, it has a family room with TV, dining area, kitchen, and nice big back porch. It sat at the top of rolling hills on a cattle ranch with a beautiful view.The bed was very comfortable and there was closet space for clothing. The galley kitchen was small but had what I needed for a short visit. Jessica had a French-press style coffee pot but emailed me to see if I wanted her to purchase a regular coffee pot. Since I don't drink coffee much in the summer I didn't need it but appreciated the offer. There were only 2 things I needed but didn't have and they were a hair dryer, since most places have one I don't take mine with me any more. With many people accessing the nearby river for a day of floating, a hair dryer would be nice. The other thing was in the family room it would be nice if there was a coffee or side table, so you can place your drink or snack on it while watching TV. I improvised with an extra dining room chair.This cabin shares a large common backyard space with another bigger cabin, but otherwise is secluded. My neighbors in the other cabin weren't intrusive so it was fine.This visit was exactly what I needed, a short break from my hectic work life. The next time I need a place I would definitely come back but might like to stay longer and probably would look at the other cabin for its added amenities.Communicating with Jessica was easy. She was a very responsive hostess, and I really appreciated the little gift in the freezer on my arrival!
