This was a lovely condo for two. I love the decor, the carpets and the ceiling fans.The view from the deck and the pretty birds were so refreshing.We enjoyed the mall nearby called "shops at Kukui'ula" for the drug store and the natural foods dining/store Living Foods. The air conditioner in the living room was sufficient for the whole condo, and together with the ceiling fans cooled the bedroom just right at night.The kitchen was well supplied with utensils, towels, vases for flowers, and even had coffee and salt, pepper and sugar and creamer etc., cleaning supplies under the sink. A few beach boards and lounge chairs available for the tenants to use on the beach, and some misc. books, games and equipment in the closet. Our biggest disappointment was that there is NO BATHTUB - but this was clear in the photos, and we just missed it. The host was very prompt in communication and even allowed us to change our reservation dates and booking when we notified him early.I think better instructions for the remote control for the A/C would be helpful, because those who are not accustomed to Japanese-made remotes and A/C units don't know how best to adjust the setting so that it cools with maximum efficiency without lowering the temperature. I suggest a laminated note with "These setting will cool the room most" and actually post the suggested buttons to set at what setting. We turned the A/C off when absent, and it cooled right down when we returned.

Awesome condo location with easy access to the beach and nearby shopping district. Coffee shop across the street is awesome!

It was wonderful to wake up to the ocean view. The unit was well appointed and the king bed was comfortable. The pull out sofa wasn't the most comfortable to sit on while watching TV. The kitchen had all the basics expected, though there were no spices, nor oils in the cabinets. Often, VRBO units have the basics for cooking a quick meal. The grounds were beautiful with plenty of green spaces, a lovely beach front lawn that was great for watching the sunset, and it is beachfront, making it very accessible for a dip in the ocean. The AC worked well and there were ceiling fans in the living room and bedroom. A tip for future guests...use a sound machine or app when going to bed. The roosters crow non stop, not just at dawn. Plus the convenience of the parking by the unit also adds street noise.

Kiahuna Plantation is a really nice family friendly resort.
Short walk to the beach on property

2 Major Cons:
1. No AC. We checked in late and it must have been 100 degrees, extremely humid. they have about 8 fans in the unit which we turned on, but without leaving the front door open there was no cross breeze until very late and it remained hot. Also sleeping with so many fans on makes my throat dry, is loud and generally unpleasant. The rest of the stay wasnt too bad, once the breeze kicked it, but for the price we paid I would never book without AC again.
2. This rental unit needs a TRIGGER WARNING. Every single piece of art, every single couch pillow, had bible quotes and Christian jargon. The "art" is extreme - think pictures of Jesus with adam and eve and stairway to heaven and generally the stuff you find at church, not vacation. There were 10 commandments in the bathroom. Why do you need 6 couch pillows with different bible quotes? It is impossible to ignore and could be unwelcoming if you are of a different religion, or even triggering if you had a bad relationship with Catholism in your past (thinking of anyone kicked out of school because they were gay, affected by priest abuse, ect). In my opinion this level of religious dogma is completely inappropriate for a rental property.
Smaller issues include the beach being very small - just be aware. Looks like it was mostly washed away. 2 sets of stairs up and down with no elevator (so carrying your luggage). Also this property is closest to the highway and furthest from the beach. You could hear the highway at night because you had to leave everything open due to no AC.
