Tucked away on 68 private acres of untouched forest in Princeton, West Virginia, The Palace of Dreams is a secluded cabin retreat designed for guests who crave peace, nature, and a touch of magic.
Originally built by my grandmother and father in the 1960s—with stones pulled from the nearby creek—the cabin has deep roots and family history. In July 2025, we completed a full renovation, blending the property’s rustic charm with thoughtful updates and modern comfort.
Recent upgrades include:
• Full interior repaint for a clean, refreshed feel
• All new furniture and room-by-room redesign
• High-quality bedding, linens, and curtains throughout
• Brand-new kitchen appliances, cookware, dishes, and silverware
• A cozy new coffee bar setup
• A refreshed fire pit area for stargazing and evening hangs
• Professional cleaning team hired to ensure top-to-bottom care for every stay
The cabin’s layout is simple, warm, and full of character—perfect for couples, solo travelers, creatives, or small families. Whether you’re sipping coffee on the porch, exploring forest trails, or unwinding by the fire, this is a place to slow down and reconnect.
🌲 What to know: Access to the property is via a half-mile gravel driveway that winds through the forest. It’s part of what makes the place feel so private and peaceful—but guests should be comfortable driving on rural roads. The cabin is surrounded by woods and wildlife, with strong cell service and reliable Wi-Fi. While the Wi-Fi generally works great, rare outages can happen due to the remote location.

We loved the seclusion, the quiet and large property for our dog to run around. Very clean, decor was cute and fun, beds comfy. Shower was great the soap and shampoo provided were so nice I even ordered the shampoo conditioner for home! The house had everything you need to enjoy your stay. Restaurants in town were yummy! The neighbors were dogs were very welcoming and so cute! I made sure to have treats every time we came and went!

Great communication with host. Property was exactly as described. A remote quiet cabin in the woods perfect for unwinding and relaxing with family and friends.

We loved where the house was located. It was so nice to spend our time outdoors in such a beautiful spot. Lots of open green space and the walk to the gate and back was long enough to tire out the dogs We went hiking in the surrounding areas which was also really nice.
That being said...the cabin was dirty. We washed everything we used to cook with or eat from. There were a lot of dead bugs under the bed. The buttons on the oven and microwave were sticky. We saw a mouse one night.
The WIFI doesn't work. The dishwasher is broken. One of the larger burners on the stove doesn't work. There are no handles on the cabinets so we kept banging our fingers.
We stayed for 3 nights. During that time the property owner called me 3 times, texted me 2 times and emailed me 6 times. He was trying to coordinate a time for the WIFI to be fixed which is understandable...up to a point. All that checking in on us and asking where we would be and what our plans were totally ruined the vibe of our entire trip. He could have handled it better. The WIFI was never fixed and no one ever came out to the house so I'm glad we didn't reschedule our plans.
We arrived 30 minutes past the check in time and the cabin was not ready. There were no check in or out instructions provided except where to leave the keys.
The cabin was fun for us....but might not be for someone else.
