"The Compass" is located in the East Beach area of Oak Island, just 1.5 miles from Oak Island Golf Club. It has a beautiful covered porch and an open deck with a table, chairs, rockers, and an ocean view. It is just a short walk to direct beach access at the end of the street. The inside is open and comfortable with many amenities such as a fully equipped kitchen and plenty of activities such as books, games, and puzzles. As you come in from a day at the beach, there is an enclosed outside shower on the ground level with a convenient dressing area. All rooms are located on the upper level, including the kitchen, dining area, living room, laundry closet, three bedrooms, and two full bathrooms.

The porch was the standout feature of this pleasant little house. It was situated to catch the breeze from the ocean so was always comfortable.

Loved the location! Perfect view of the ocean. However, the home could use some minor upgrades. The bed in the master was firm & starting to sink in the middle. Felt a little worn out. No drawers in the master to put clothes away, we had to go buy hangers to hang a few things, because there none in any of the closets. (We left them for other guests.) The kitchen was well stocked except for sharp knives, they were all serrated, which is hard to peel & chop things. The TV’s in the bedrooms are very small & the cable boxes were not activated in there, so we couldn’t use them. We only had the TV in living room & the couch & loveseat was similar to outdoor wicker furniture, which wasn’t the most comfortable for 5 people. A nice sectional or bigger sofa & loveseat would be a good investment for the owners to consider. It stormed a couple evenings, so we did enjoy the board games available. Would consider staying again, if updated a little.

Really enjoyed our stay. House was really close to beach & walk to beach was not bad at all. We could see the ocean from the porch. Comfortable beds & all the kitchen utensils you could possibly need. We would definitely stay again!!
