About this house rental
Beautifully appointed Octagon House on the West side of Canandaigua Lake. This property is centrally located and has everything needed for your luxe Finger Lakes vacation.
The main house sits above the road, offering panoramic views of the "Gem of the Inland Lakes" from almost every room.
Relax on the large wrap around deck with picturesque lake views to watch the sun rise with your morning coffee or mimosas. On chillier days, gather in the cozy living area with gas fireplace to watch TV, curl up with a good book, or play games. You can still enjoy the lake views with the wall of mirrors that align with the panoramic wall of windows. Hardwired HDMI hook-ups for 2 of the 4 Samsung Smart TVs in main house mounted in wall for easy access to connect your streaming and gaming devices.
The gourmet kitchen is stocked with all of the accoutrements you need to prepare a nourishing home cooked meal. Utilize the grill located steps from the sun room and back yard or order from one of the many nearby restaurants for a quiet night in. Large dining table with small bar for your beverages is a great place to gather for game night. Bring your own or find games and books on the bookshelves. Your charcuterie board or dessert platter will be in reach on the spacious breakfast bar.
Relax on the beach side deck overlooking the water and beach. The Beach House is equipped with a small kitchenette and grill so you can spend the day lake side. 75 feet of level lake front allows you to walk right into the water from the small stone beach. Boat dock has space for 2-3 boats and plenty of room to lounge or fish. Bring your boat and launch from the public boat launch, or rent one at the Marina. Water sport toys available for rent locally. The lake has an abundance of trout, bass, perch, bullhead and several other common fish species for fishing.
Come for skiing at Bristol Mountain or hiking at one of the many trail systems dotted throughout the area, followed by relaxing in the indoor hot tub with a bottle of award winning Finger Lakes wine and locally made gourmet chocolates.
Each floor has a primary bedroom, full bathroom and guest room. Upper level guest bedroom has a queen sized bed, lower level guest bedroom has twin sized bunk beds. Upper level has a half bathroom. Hot water on demand system ensures you never run out of hot water. Lower level has a play room equipped with toys. Perfect layout for 2 families vacationing together! Handicap accessible with entrance and all amenities on upper floor. Luxurious primary bedroom suite on upper level has king bed, access to front deck, closet that is really a room within a room, en-suite bathroom with oversized shower that has handheld shower head and seat. Primary bedroom on lower level is right next to the bathroom, has a queen bed and separate entrance.
There are 2 possible spaces for working or joining in on a Zoom Meeting. Full laundry room with clothes steamer and iron.

We were 3 siblings with our spouses and our 92-year old father. He has mobility problems and uses a walker. It was okay for him as he could stay on the entry floor and did not need to go downstairs. The best things about the place were the kitchen and the porch. We cooked almost all our meals at the house and it was easy to work in that kitchen. The porch was great for viewing the lake, especially afternoons. There were two negatives - the AC was a problem because the downstairs bedrooms were icy cold. We tried to keep the AC higher on the main floor to compensate, but the bedding on that floor had heavy duvets, no light-weight blankets.The other big problem was the internet bandwidth. The 2G network for guests could not handle 7 adults with two devices each. It was very slow.

This property is beautiful! The house was very clean and the rooms are very spacious. There were 6 of us staying and we still had room for a couple more people. Check in process started out not great due to the door code not working. The property manager was very responsive though and got us in very quickly. We had issues with the wifi as well. There are 2 separate routers, one for guests and the other for owners. The guest wifi did not work upon several tries. The property manager did come to the house to try to resolve the issue. He was also unable to connect to the guest wifi so he gave us access to the other although was hesitant to do so. Overall we had a fantastic stay and would definitely stay there again!

Lovely home with a separate beach house on the lake. Clean. Spacious. We all loved staying at this property.
