About this cottage rental
The 2 "Gîtes du Testal" opened recently in 2021.
They are located in a medieval town in Lagorce between Vallon Pont d'Arc and Ruoms. The place is very pleasant because it is at the crossroads of the most beautiful tourist attractions... and yet quiet with an unobstructed view.
You will be able to enjoy:
- swimming and picnicking on the banks of 4 very different rivers: the Ardèche, Labeaume, the Ibie and the Chassezac,
- numerous hikes and bike rides (greenway) in Lagorce, Saint Alban Auriolles, Ruoms, Saint Remèze, Vallon Pont d'Arc, Les Vans and the mysterious Bois de Païolive etc.
- many extraordinary views of the Cévennes,
- fabulous canoe descents under the Pont d'Arc and elsewhere,
- caves and their secrets (Chauvet of course but also many others...)
and the Aluna Festival.
If you like to travel through medieval villages with fortified castles, enjoy local products for direct sale, the atmosphere of country inns, taste incredible wines, drive on beautiful scrubland roads, festivals... or do nothing and nap by the water with the cicadas, then you will love the south of the Ardèche!
The atmosphere of the region is festive. The agendas are varied.
To start your stay, when you leave the house you can already walk on a pretty dirt road through the scrubland.
The upstairs cottage with balcony + terrace can accommodate four people (1 cabin bedroom with a double bed 140 x 190 cm and a bedroom with two bunk beds 80 x 190 cm + a desk).
It has a beautiful wooden terrace and courtyard that overlooks the house (east and south facing).
It is perfectly equipped with:
- a complete kitchen (oven, hob, microwave, hood, fridge with freezer compartment and dishwasher) with many utensils and quality crockery,
- a living room with TV lounge and dining area (extendable table with 4 chairs),
- a bright cabin bedroom (under the trees on the north side) with a large 140 x 190 bed allowing suitcases to be slipped underneath,
- a bedroom (under the trees on the north/east side) with plenty of storage space, two bunk beds in 80 x 190 and a desk,
- new and quality furniture with a neat decoration and good mattresses,
- air conditioning/heating to welcome you with comfort in all seasons,
- a WIFI terminal for your leisure or teleworking (connection sometimes disrupted during strong tourist peaks... Fiber is coming soon),
- a bright shower room/WC with heated towel rail,
- an independent entrance on the 1st floor,
- a garden and a courtyard to relax, play bowls, have a barbecue...
The floor is laminate flooring.
Mosquito nets allow you to enjoy the night breezes and the song of the screech-owl in the oak trees.
A duvet and a cotton piqué will be nice for the cool nights the rest of the year.
Additional "guests" for the night are not permitted.
Smoking is not permitted except in the courtyard.
Check-in is possible from 4 p.m. and check-out until 11 a.m.
- The initial cleaning must be done by yourself. However, we offer the cleaning option on reservation (70 €). Cleaning products are provided and respect phyto-purification (treatment of wastewater by plants).
- We lend baby equipment on reservation (folding bed + mosquito net, table seat, changing mat, bathtub and plastic pot).
- Are provided: Sheets (cotton and/or linen) as well as a cotton towel/person (+ in summer microfiber towel for the rivers).
- Soon, you will be able to charge your vehicle with an electric terminal installed on the house. In the meantime, to avoid any serious malfunctions and fires, it is forbidden to recharge a battery.
- No worries for your car, trailer, bike... We have a dedicated place for your gîte and space.
- Possibility of renting the cottage by the month outside school holidays with adapted rates (teleworking).
Below, on the first floor, a gîte can accommodate 2 people and a baby (see ad 1989654).

J'ai séjourné là bas pour prendre du repos et me ressourcer.
J'ai vraiment apprécié mon séjour: la propreté, la paix, l'ordre qui règnent dans l'appartement, étaient très satisfaisants. L'hôte est douce et accueillante. J'en garde un bon souvenir.
Le coin est très très calme. Apaisant.
Les alentours, rivières, (situés à environ une vingtaine de minutes) point d'eau, etc, étaient agréables.
Un Super U situé à moins de 10 min.
Je suis vraiment contente de mon séjour. Vraiment.

Tolle Ferienwohnung für einen abwechslungsreichen und entspannten Urlaub in der Ardėche!
Gute Ausstattung, schön eingerichtet und mit großem umlaufenden Balkon, Sonnenuntergang inklusive.
Die Ferienwohnung ist toll gelegen, von der kleinen Siedlung nahe Ruoms ist man mit dem Auto schnell in atemberaubender Natur und den Sehenswürdigkeiten der Region.
Die sympathischen Gastgeber wohnen im Nachbarhaus und waren sehr hilfsbereit und hatten tolle Tipps, z.B. für Wandertouren und Badestellen.
Absolute Empfehlung, uns hat es sehr gefallen!
