About this house rental
Missele is the nickname we gave to our great-grandmother who lived in this house. Dating from the eighteenth century, in the heart of the typical village of Northern Alsace, Cleebourg, this house, whose interior has been completely renovated to be functional, has kept all its character and offers a haven of peace with its enclosed inner courtyard and its magnificent garden.
Inside, in addition to the two bedrooms and the kitchen with its living area, you can relax in the Stub, this large room with old parquet floors and a wall of traditional bricks.
The beautiful town of Wissembourg, steeped in history and rich in shops is less than 10 km away, the house is also 30 minutes from Strasbourg, a magical city in all seasons.
Everything is there to relax, enjoy the gastronomy and wines of the cellar or the beer of the micro-brewery in the same street, walk in beautiful landscapes as soon as you leave the house or go a little further such as to visit Hunspach voted Most Beautiful Village in France 2020, go road biking or mountain biking (rental in the village) or enjoy attractions such as the brand new Chemin des cimes in Drachenbronn, breathtaking. Swimming pool 5km away.
All the ingredients are in your hands to compose a stay to your liking from the "Douce Missele".
Beds are made on arrival. Cleaning is done for your arrival and departure.
Towels can be provided at an extra charge.
A baby cot can be provided with an extra charge as well as a changing table: 15€ for the 2 pieces of equipment.

We have enjoyed the week at Mireille’s house. I may not need to repeat all detail of previous excellent feedback about the well-designed interior and the relaxing garden. It felt like a representation of a modern woman with good taste and a warm welcoming heart. That is exactly how we experienced Mireille as a person. She is a wonderful host, very kind, considerate, caring and did everything to make our stay relaxing and comfortable. Thank you very much, Mireille.

We stayed in this lovely house for 10 days in August. We particularly enjoyed the garden (complete with chairs and tables, treehouse and swing set), the quiet location, and our very friendly hosts. Cleebourg is quiet and relaxing but very close to the shops, restaurants, swimming pool, etc. of Wissembourg, so it was a perfect base for us and our four year old. There are walks very nearby, as well as a fantastic playground (Foret d’Adventure), and—further afield—the Alsace wine route, Colmar, and across the German border, Baden-Baden and a wild animal park that is about 25 minutes from the house. We didn’t try many local restaurants but can recommend the Cave (in Cleebourg) and Patisserie Daniel Rebert (Wissembourg). Really a very nice place for our family holiday: would recommend to anyone interested in exploring the quieter corners of Alsace.
