The location was excellent, and we were warned that the place was under construction. However we were not prepared for the stairs. I am 85 and although I am still very spry, climbing the narrow tread stairs was scary. If I had not had help I could have never managed to carry my suitcase up 2 narrow flights of stairs.

The home did not appear as advertised in the photos. It was under construction, had lumber ion the floor in the dining room, had unfinished floors and felt more like a place one would camp in rather than stay as a home/hotel away from home. We were notified only about a week ahead of our stay that one of the advertised bathrooms would not be available. We said we agreed to this because with such short notice there were no other accommodations in Oberammergau during the Passion Play. We were coming from the USA and after we were already in Europe, told we needed to have brought sheets/towels with us or would be charged another $50 Euro. That seemed ridiculous since the house was already very, very rustic and missing a bathroom with a shower. Also, we have friends who live in Oberammergau and rent their homes, unfortunately theirs were already booked, but they said that bringing sheets and towels from the USA is not a custom. I was ashamed to have family stay there and would never recommend it to anyone unless it is completely remodeled and stocked appropriately for guests arriving from other countries.

Britta and her husband were super easy to work with and accessible whenever needed. They even helped with dinner reservations that turned out great. Their rental home is centrally located, impeccably clean and fully stocked.

Incredible location and charming, beautiful house in Oberammergau - ten minute walk from the Passion Play and downtown! Our group of 7 had a lovey stay and enjoyed the beautiful garden and views. Please note if you are traveling internationally that you need to bring your own towels and pillow cases.

Lovely, quirky Bavarian house

Location was excellent. The house sits right next to a walking path that leads into the main square and is also a short walk from the best cake in the world (as recommended by the property owner). We loved the house, but be aware it is an old farmhouse and it’s stairs are steep and it’s floors are uneven. It appears you also need your own pillow cases and towels. This may be common to the area, but this was our first trip to Europe 😁.

Gemütliches, renoviertes Haus an einem kleinem Bach in zentraler, aber doch ruhiger Lage. Wir waren zu fünft und haben uns sehr wohlgefühlt. Die Zimmer sind hell & freundlich, die lackierten Holzböden knarzen und die lange Tafel lädt zu gesellige Essensrunden ein. Einfach urig. Wer ein steril geputztes Hotelzimmer benötigt, ist hier fehl am Platz!
