Great place in a great area

Very pleasant stay in a well equipped property. A lot of space, everything was most convenient, and the owners were very nice and helpful. The only problem was week unstable internet – both mobile and WiFi. We were said it was a known problem of the whole region. All in all, I would highly recommend the property, especially for long stays – the area is great for forest walks and a lot of other activities.

Wir waren hier in einer kleinen, aber gut ausgestatteten Wohnung. Es gibt andere Wohnungen, die ein bisschen größer sind. Die Küche war perfekt ausgestattet, zusammen mit Kinderbesteck und einem Hochstuhl. Es gab Spielzeuge in der Garage für die Kinder und einen großen Spielplatz draußen, einschließlich mit einem Trampolin. Brot ist nur für eine sehr geringe Gebühr jeden Morgen an der Tür geliefert. In der Nähe befinden sich verschiedene Wandergebiete. Es ist nur ca. 10 Minuten von Titisee und Restaurants, Lebensmittelladen, Badeparadies, usw... Es ist nur ca. 15 Minuten vom Hofgut Sternen, wo die schöne Ravennaschlucht Wanderung beginnt. Ich kann dieses Ferienwohnung wärmstens empfehlen. Die Besitzer sind sehr nett und haben viele Informationen für tägliche Ausflüge und Wanderungen. ------- We stayed in a small, but well-equipped apartment here. There are other apartments available which are a bit bigger. The kitchen was perfectly equipped, along with children's silverware and a high chair. There were toys in the garage for the kids, and a large play area outside, including with a trampoline. We LOVED that bread is delivered every morning to your door (for only a very small fee). There are various hiking areas close by. It is only about 10 minutes from Titisee and restaurants, grocery store, Badeparadies, etc.. It is only about 15 minutes from the Hofgut Sternen, which is where the beautiful Ravenna Schlucht hike starts. I highly recommend this place. The owners are quite nice and have a lot of information on hand for daily outings and hikes.

The house was lovely, clean and surrounded by a wonderful landscape. The owners were very nice and helpful. Our apartment was on the second floor, it was big and had lovely views. Our apartment had a kitchen and it had everything we could need (washing machine, dishwasher, oven, ...) I highly recommend it.

Birgit and her family could not have been more welcoming. We enjoyed every minute of our stay and was the ideal spot to explore. Our 15 month old little girl loved the house too and especially the toys and cows! We would go back in a hearbeat.

Super apartment in the Black Forest

We stayed, as a family of 4 (2 year old and a baby) over Christmas. The apartment was perfect for us - two bedrooms that were spacious with ample storage, a lounge area, a well equipped kitchen and bathroom. Birgit was a great host and offered us more advice and help that we could use in our short stay, as we already had plans, however we were very confident that if we needed anything then all we had to do is ask - she even offered us some pain relief for our teething baby! We had a place to store our baby buggy too. All in all this is a wonderful apartment, with a fantastic host in a great location. We would recommend it to anyone.

We had wonderful time at the apartment. It's located very good with beautiful and quit surrounding. Everything is very clean and well organized, children friendly. The kitchen has everything that you need! We strongly recommend this apartment and hope to come back soon....

Great location for family holidays

The location is fantastic, no photos can describe fantastic views.. Welcoming and guiding received from Frau Birgit were exact and descriptive. Both grocery shops and restaurants are located in just a few minutes of driving. The apartments are clean and shining. Any kitchen equipment we thought about ( and we cooked) were found exactly where expected to be. Wonderful location for any family seeking some nature, silence and great views.

MARVELLOUS, AMAZING, RELAX, NATURE, SNOW....

MARVELLOUS, AMAZING, RELAX, NATURE, SNOW....

We were four people (2 adults and 2 kids). The idea was to relax and visit this part of the Black Forest during 6 days and we succeded!. The house has everything you need to stay confortable: good heating, a complete kitchen including dishwasher, two bedrooms, sheets, blankets, Nordic quilts, towels....everything is in the apartment overview. (No washing machine...but we did not need it so we did not ask for cleaning the clothes or similar). Something to remark is that everything looked like new, was tidy and clean. We stayed in the second floor (there are two appartments in this floor) and the owner lives in the first floor with some relatives. The location is amazing. The landscape is marvellous. You can breath fresh air in the middle of Europe. The owner is very kind and speaks German and English. She was so kind that she became our "tourist guide" during a brief walk in the forest and even gave us a Christmas present. She provided us daily bread....early in the morning "someone" left a bag in front of our door...nice way to start the day opening the door getting your bread and preparing the breakfast! She also gave us a card that allow you to use the public transport means in the area for free (Friburg is 45 minutes far away by train) and also get discounts in certain shops/business. We visited both lakes, Friburg and Feldberg where the children enjoyed with the sledge. We also spent one day in an indoor slide complex for children and adults close to the appartment (http://www.badeparadies-schwarzwald.de/). We got 2 € discount in each ticket. Imagine my children...-2º and snow outside and 20º and swimsuits inside. It snowed the same night we arrived and the landscape turned into a winter post card...It also snowed the last night, about ten centimeters, and it was the final test for my first winter tyres. Hopefully they worked as it was supposed and we came back home safetly. I am preatty sure we will come back. Thanks for everything and happy New Year!!!

The best zimmer and host!!!

We stayed at Camomile for 5 days and had a great time. The zimmer is near a river and you feel like you live in nature altough you're five minutes from a big supermarket and shopping center. Like the other visitors wrote, the apartment is equipped with all the things you'll need in your vacation. Birgit thought on every detail. Birgit not just helped us but saved us! Our flight have been canceleed and dear Birgit with alot of patience and willing to help solve us the this troubling matter. Birgit - we thank you again and hope to see you in our next vacation to your beatiful area. The area is breath-taking and the views are peaceful and magnificent. I recommend to order the little rolls - they are grat and tasty. Most recommended for the whole family!

We stayed at one of Birgit's apartments for 7 days and had a great time. the apartment is equipped with all the things you'll need in your vacation. Birgit helped us in any question and her hospitality and warmth created an enjoyable time at Jostal. The area is breath-taking and the views are peaceful and magnificent. Robie, Maya (the dogs) and the cats may be suspicious at first, but once know you, they'll be good friends... Most recommended for the whole family!

we stayed 9 nights, the apartment was ideal for our family (three kids), equipped with all we need for cooking, shower, sleep. birgit is very nice, speaks very good english and helped us with what we needed. the house is in beautiful and quiet area and it is in great location, 1-1.5 hour to Europa park/ Zurich/colmar. we highly recommend staying at josenmuehle.

A Friendly House in ´Beautifull landscape

We enjoyed very much our stay: we found in Josenmuehle very friendly and comfortable basis for hiking in the Black Forest landscape. The hills covered with forests and meadows are simply marvellous, it is a country of my dreams. We were provided with a lot of practical publications on the region of which the tourist maps were especially appreciated. The house and appartement are perfectly clean and equiped with all necessary facilities. We have immediately feeling to be at home thanks to Birgit and her mother. Our stay was short but intensive and we can definitely recommend the Josenmuehle to everybody who likes gentle people and beautiful nature.

Found in an excellent, rural location, our apartment had everything we needed to feel at home. The apartment was exceptionally clean and had lots of light and beautiful views (we had the apartment without the terrace but were allowed use of a side terrace). Be sure to open the living room window and enjoy the babbling of the brook near the house. With lots of countryside to explore, this is a perfect retreat for nature lovers. During our short stay, we visited Schwarzwalder Freilichtmuseum Vogtsbauernhof, the clock museum in Furtwangen, Triberg and Germany's highest waterfall. Birgit was the perfect host. She made everyone in the party, including our 4-legged friend, feel welcome. We especially appreciated the delicious, fresh rolls delivered to our door each morning. We hope to make a return visit someday and highly recommend the apartment.

We had an amazing vacation at the black forest area,we chose this place Because of its proximity to many attraction places. the apartment is very pleasant and comfortable,The kitchen is equipped with everything needed, Birgit and her mother are so kindness and doing an amazing job of keeping the place very nice and clean. A lovely quiet spot in the high Black Forest.

We had greatly enjoyed this apartment. The rooms were clean, large and lovely to live. The additional personal explanation of the region, the details in the leaflets made ??this a perfect holiday. The fresh rolls in the morning were delicious. The view to the landscape was like in a fairy tale. At the back of the house you can walk to the forest. You can easily spend hours walking in the nature. I have seen a squirrel and a young deer in the nearby forest. It's really cool to see these animals walking. All pets of the owners walking around made it very cozy. We can recommend this apartment it to everyone.

We had a very good time in the apartment with the balcony from which we had a beautiful view on the hilly countryside. The owners are very friendly and everything was as it has to be: a clean and comfortable apartment and enough privacy. It was soo quiet! Birgit gave us a lot of information about the neighbourhood and many maps. The fresh rolls in the morning were delicious (take the brown ones!). We like walking and there is no better place for that imaginable, because we could start right away from the Josenmühle. We also went twice to the Wutachschlucht where we walked along beautiful waterfalls and streams. We climbed tot the top of the Feldberg and we visited Freiburg by train and liked this city. It is possible to join guided tours and we did this too. A good experience! Titisee itself is touristic, but attractive. It was a surprise for us that German wines are soo good. We already knew about the Germans beers and pastry. My favourite cake was the käsetorte, my husband prefered the Schwarzwälderkirschtorte. Thanks a lot, Birgit and Irmgard!

We really enjoyed our stay at Josenmuhle. The room was very comfortable with excellent facilities and the balcony had a beautiful outlook over the surrounding countryside. Our stay was made more pleasurable by the owner (who speaks good English) making helpful suggestions and providing maps and information of the surrounding area. Nothing was too much trouble to make our stay enjoyable. Self catering facilities were to a very good standard and included a dishwasher with tablets provided. The local Aldi a few km down the road gave us all we needed. A car is probably essential to explore the surrounding area but you can make use of the park and ride at Titisee station and then make use of the free guest card to go Freiburg and other places by train for nothing. We were really made to feel most welcome and I would have no hesitation in recommending a stay at this guesthouse.

Marvellous find on the Internet

Marvellous find on the Internet

We enjoyed 2 great weeks in this apartment in August 2011. Thanks to Rainer who kindly showed us the apartment when we arrived. It was very clean and well equipped. There is an excellent terrace just to sit, relax, have a beer and enjoy the sun. Birgit was an absolute star. Her command of English is very good. She recommended places to visit, helped with directions, supplied many leaflets and patiently answered our queries. Thanks also to her mum for our little talks on the terrace each day. The situation of this cottage is wonderful, peaceful and quiet and within a short distance of Titisee. We had a fantastic time sailing on the lake, riding in the cable cars, visiting the glass works and the nearby cities. The weather was good and we enjoyed the country walks. Birgit and her family excelled in their hospitality and we hope to return for another holiday soon. Thanks once again for making our holiday one to remember. Jim, Jenny, Christine and Owen. We had a great vacation time in Josenmuehle. The house and its surroundings are beautiful and quite, with great views from our windows. The apartment is modern, very clean, comfortable and well equipped. Our two year old son also enjoyed the stay and felt like at home from the very first day. He was impressed with all the space and nature around, the animals, tractors, and happy with the toys available to play. Of course he did not want to come back home and still talks about the things he experienced there. The location is very convenient, just a few kilometers from Neustad, where many facilities can be found (supermarket, gas station, hospital, etc.). It is also easy to reach several other nice places to visit. We want to thank the host family for the hospitality and for letting us feeling like home. They are very friendly people, prompt to help and to give good advice about the region and attractions. The fresh bread rolls early every morning was also a nice service. We hope we can have another wonderful vacation time there in the future. I can fully recommend without any reservation this wonderful place!

A quiet, picturesque, and superb accommodation. What a great hideaway to get away from it all. Beautiful countryside and central location to make day trips via car. We stayed 3 nites, but wish we had a week. Very spiffy and roomy apartment. The owner Birgit is a gem...a great hostess and very helpful in guiding us to sites to visit in the area. It's off the beaten path, but well worth the diversion. Highly recommend...very therapeutic for the mind and body

A Place in the Forest

A Place in the Forest

This is our fourth return to the Black Forest though not in this area.As we are both motorcyclist we were looking for a good base to tour from and also great roads to ride.With this appartment we sure did find both of these .When we arrive we were given a warm welcome and shown to the appartment.This was nicely laid out with everything we require for our weeks stay.The appartment has ample safe hardstanding parking.During our week the weather was kind with sun every day, we even made use of the free transport with a trip to Freiburg on the train very easy. I would recommend this appartment for any touring motorcyclist,walker,cyclist and if you have a car as the area has everything to offer. With this accomadation if you want to be active then you can or you can just chill out in a nice quite area. We would like to thank you all for a great stay and look forward to our return soon.
