Bright and airy with lots of natural light, Red Lion Square defies its basement location thanks to the skylights in its sitting room and, more surprisingly, a delightful open-air, plant-filled courtyard, which anchors the home and is accessible from both the master bedroom and the sitting room. The clean-lined and minimal aesthetic of simple furnishings in a neutral palette is given a healthy dose of character by the London-centric theme running through the home, which includes tube maps and signs and vibrant local artwork. Spread over a single level, there are two bedrooms and two bathrooms - one ensuite - making this the perfect retreat for a small family, group of friends or even a solo business traveller. Located on a leafy square in the heart of Holborn, the delights of Covent Garden and the city's West End are but a short walk away.

- This home doesn't have air-conditioning. Between June and September, we'll place fans in each bedroom. Please let us know if you'd like fans outside the summer period. This home is on the lower ground floor. There are stairs down to the entrance of this home, and no elevator. Please note that the towel rails in both bathrooms are not connected to the heating but both bathroom floors are heated instead. Being conveniently and centrally placed in the heart of London, some noise can be heard in the home from the Elizabeth Line below.

Overall the kitchen was good. We use the kitchen a lot, perhaps more than many people on vacation, so we noticed a few small issues that could be corrected:1. The lack of a non-teflon frying pan (other than that the pots were great!)2. Could not find a knife sharpener (there is a tool to straighten the knifes)3. The fridge door tends to stay open if one is not careful4. There were no mittens to remove hot items from the oven5. There is little protection against spills and drops on the kitchen floorBut, overall, it was quite enjoyable. The location is great, nice to walk to many interesting areas of London (Piccadilly, Covent Garden, Westminster, etc).

Great place to stay. Ideal location for West End theatres, Covent Garden and very close to the tube. Very nice apartment. Has everything you need. Nice and spacious. Was perfect for my party of four adults. Would definitely stay here again.

We enjoyed our stay at this property and would stay here again. The location was perfect for all the places we visited. The unit was clean and just as pictured. Conveniently located near the bus stop and underground, we made good use of public transportation. A wonderful, historic pub is close by that had awesome food. We ate there 3 times; the Sunday roast dinner was amazing. We liked the neighborhood too, always felt safe and secure.
