About this country house rental
This dog-friendly accommodation consists of 2 houses, 5 metres apart, in their own discreet location at the end of a country lane. They are rented as a single property (both houses are included in the price), in a secluded garden with a large heated pool, situated near the small hamlet of Lage, close to Vanzay, Lezay and Couhé, which provide a good selection of shops, bars and restaurants.
Over half of our bookings come from guests who have stayed with us previously. Many tell us that they return because the property is, quite simply, the best equipped of any they have stayed in, ever. We provide a range of bicycles, table tennis, beach games etc.; there are 2 bbqs in different areas. The large (9x5) alarmed pool has Roman steps at the shallow end, to facilitate safe entry by children and the elderly and it is heated by an ecologically friendly air-sourced heat pump. Summers in this region are typically very warm, but of course it can rain. For those days we provide indoor games, internet, tv, satellite (tuned to UK stations), dvds and - books!
Because the area is so unspoiled, there are many wild animals that you will enjoy seeing. You are almost certain to come across deer, hare, loir (edible dormice) and birds of prey, but you may also see beech marten, little owl and the occasional stone curlew!

Heated swimming pool (heated from 1st June to 30th September).
Pool-house comprising shower, wc and kitchen area adjacent to pool
Vast sitting and dining area beside pool
Separate dining areas also in the open air.
Free Broadband internet access and free phone calls to fixed phone lines in UK, France and other countries.
Bed linen, hand and bath towels provided. (Beach towels also available upon request).

4 bedrooms: Large main bedroom with large double bed, additional single bed. Second bedroom with twin beds, mezzanine area with double bed. Large twin bedroom in annexe.

Beautiful place - a perfect tonic to our normal life in London. We loved the space, the cleanliness and the pool. The hedgehog visits at night were an added treat.

Our stay at Les Canards was a very pleasant experience. There was plenty of space and beds with new linen as well as plenty of towels and kitchen utensils. The outdoor area was beautiful and very private and the pool a big hit. Furthermore, there were well-functioning bikes and table-tennis equipment. The only downside was that the wifi connection wasn't really working - or only partially, but that was a minor thing. All in all, we have enjoyed our stay very much and can only recommend this beautiful country house.

Great property with good sized pool and annexe. Great communication with owner. Very rural and most activities required a car journey but easy to spend time around the house due to pool, bikes etc.
