About this house rental
La Paillotte and La Petite Paillotte provide a relaxing, comfortable home-from-home in a peaceful village five minutes from Semur-en Auxois, a medieval market town.
Sleeping up to 14 in total, with a combination of double and single beds, these spacious houses are fully equipped making them ideal for families or groups of friends holidaying together. The houses have well stocked kitchens and a large BBQ is supplied. There is room for everyone to dine together in La Paillotte's large dining room (an extra table can be brought in from the terrace) or on its generous wooden terrace with views across the valley. La Petite Paillotte has a shaded terrace for use on hotter days. For chillier days, La Paillotte has an open fire and La Petite Paillotte has a wood burner and ample wood is supplied in the cellar beneath the main house.
The garden is fully enclosed and the swimming pool is surrounded by a security fence. A cot can be provided and dogs are allowed by prior arrangement (subject to an extra charge). The terrace, garden and swimming pool all offer exceptional views across the Brenne valley.
The pool is equipped with sun loungers, 2 large outdoor umbrellas and a box of inflatables and toys. The pool is a perfect to enjoy the views over the valley below or relax in the evening sun (plastic glasses are supplied for use by the pool). Pool towels are supplied.
The remoteness of Lantilly make this a perfect spot for star gazing from the La Paillotte terrace and (in August) watching meteor showers.
There is room to park 4 cars off street with space to turn cars around in the circular drive. You can also access a plug socket from the drive to charge electric vehicles (in the laundry room)
Board games and jigsaws are provided in both houses, garden games and pool inflatables are supplied. There is a recently upgraded and well equipped play room in La Petite Paillotte including a new 7ft billiard/ pool table that converts into a table tennis table.
Fast WiFi and excellent mobile phone reception enable you to stay in touch with the outside world.
This is a perfect base from which to explore Burgundy and nearby areas whether wine tasing in Chablis, Beaune or Dijon, cycling or walking along the Burgundian canals, visiting charming French villages like Semur-en Auxois, Epoisses and Gevry Chambertain or visiting local attractions like Abbaye De Fontenay, Parc L'Auxois or Alesia-Museo Parc.

We stayed in La Paillotte with six friends and liked the house very much: comfortable, clean and good beds.
It was hot (25-34 degrees) so the pool was very welcome.
We visited Semur-en-Auxois, Avalon, Bussy-Rabutin, Flavigny and Dijon and had a very nice week.
