John was an excellent host, he responded quickly to questions and we had everything we needed and more. The home and neighborhood are pristine. The pool and beautiful landscaping made for an excellent bonus as we enjoyed our coffee in the morning and swimming with the kids in the evening. All bedrooms have excellent A/C, the covered drive-thru driveway was awesome for close loading and unloading of luggage, plus it rained often and we could still access the vehicles without getting wet. We loved the location and the neighborhood was ideal. I highly recommend booking with John as this home was an absolute joy and made our trip to Kauai very special.

We had such a wonderful time at this property. We would love to stay here again. Beautiful quiet neighborhood super close to everything you may want or need. Only issue we had was that we didn’t receive the code to the garage until the end of our stay. This was where all of the beach toys and accessories were, which we didn’t get to use. Didnt take away from how lovely and well appointed the house was. Our little family was very comfortable and we could see bringing friends and family and still having plenty of space.

We loved this house so much! It was very well equipped with everything we could possibly need. The location was perfect - we chose to drive to beaches (parking was never an issue which is so different than east coast beaches) but you could easily walk to 2-3. There are also small restaurants and shops (including coffee) that are easily walkable. The house itself is open and airy. The art is beautiful, and we really enjoyed just hanging out at home when we were tired from the days’ adventures. The kids absolutely loved the pool and we loved the sunsets from the back porch. A perfect stay.

We really loved our stay at this home on the South Shore of Kauai. We spent half a week here, and loved every day we were able to call it home. The house was exactly as advertised, very clean (spotless), super comfortable, and VERY well stocked (DO NOT underestimate the importance of this point!). I wanted to personally thank the Homeowner for how well stocked the home was in terms of the kitchen, cooking supplies, spices, soaps, paper products, laundry detergent-- the list goes on. I have been burned multiple times on poorly stocked rentals where you are forced to ration out your laundry, showers, and cooking due to poorly stocked supplies. Especially in an expensive place like Kauai (the most expensive place!) having a rental well-stocked is a HUGE plus. For this point alone I would consider staying here again! The only negative regarding the property that I can think of is the general lack of privacy, however this was not a surprise as we read through the reviews, looked at the photos, and knew what to expect. So for us it was not really a negative- but I will say that if you find your personal privacy very important, you may want to consider this point. The home is backed directly up to a (beautiful) golf course, where throughout the day there are groups of golfers that go by the backyard. There is no fence. However the view from the back porch is also what makes the property so nice! Also as another reviewer mentioned, the blinds can be seen right through at night.

The house was perfect for my dad, 2 teenage kids, and my spouse and I. The kitchen was well stocked and decor very nice. Location to shopping centers and beach very convenient. Garage is stocked with beach chairs, coolers, and pool toys. The neighborhood is very nice and quiet. Pool and outside patio area was amazing and well maintained. Since it is HI, there are bugs which is par for the course, there was one room in the house that had more bugs than the other 2 rooms. The front door combo lock was fickle and sometimes it would take several tries to unlock, however, these two issues would not prevent us from returning to the property.

Beautiful sunsets at this property and the fans and room a/c really keeps things comfortable. The lock on the front door definitely needs to be replaced since the code only works sporadically. Pool was not clean upon arrival either, but we had the equipment to clean it ourselves.

We stayed March 24 for five nights. This home was a perfect location for us. The three bedrooms offered four beds and that is one of the reasons we booked this house. Also three full baths with nice showers worked for us. (One shower door did not close the entire way but wasn’t an issue since the shower spray was not close to the door). The owner was nice to allow a late checkout. And while we did overstay our welcome, (there were flood warnings and torrential downpours the day we were supposed to leave that caused issues) when the homeowner did contact us to advise us to “get out”, we were out within 15 minutes for the cleaner - leaving the house almost spotless with all laundry complete except one load. We did have an issue that was not resolved during our stay. The front door lock malfunctioned. We contacted the homeowner the first morning and offered to send video of the lock not working properly. Two people in our group have a Schlage lock at their homes and know how it should work and this lock was malfunctioning. We were uncomfortable leaving the house unlocked while out for the day and also at night we propped a chair against it and slept with our bedroom doors locked. Also one time when it did happen to lock we couldn’t unlock it and it took 12 tries to get in the home. This issue was not resolved during the five nights we were there and really should have been - security and safety reasons. I would recommend these things: 1. More face cloths (wash cloths) would be good - I think there were only 3-4. 2. Ice maker in fridge doesn’t work and there were no ice trays - so make sure you buy bagged ice at the store. 3. the blinds in the bedroom—if you can see out, they can see in. We didn’t realize how much until two of us went to pick up dinner at night and came home. The bamboo blinds, while nice, will show everything in a lit room at night. 4. Ants. Do not leave any food on counters (we left a bag of pork rinds out that got infested) or garbage in the trash can- which we emptied each day. 5. Roosters are everywhere on the island. If you’re not used to roosters you may need ear plugs as they started at approx 3am every morning. Thank you for the use of your beautiful home.

Initially, the Vrbo app did not allow me access to some info. Don’t know if there was a glitch in the system, however, once that was resolved, everything else ran smoothly. We did talk to John Eshelman about some concern we had, entry door did not always lock and one of the shower doors was jammed and did not close. Otherwise, our stay at the house was exceptional, perfect surroundings, especially the pool, perfect size for our family of 8, and the amenities were more than we could ask for. Without a doubt, our family enjoyed our vacation at the Milo house!

Appreciated the last minute booking due to Vacasa Rental Agency telling us 2 days prior to our arrival that our rental wasn’t available. Our win in the end - this house offered us plenty of space in a great location. We really enjoyed the lanai, pool and quick response from the owner when we needed something. AC worked well in the bedrooms and fans helped in the main part of the house. Very nice neighborhood. Lucky you going to Kauai!

This was the most beautiful place to stay with our family. The layout of the house was perfect for our family of 5. Spacious and also a beautiful backyard with a pool to watch the day end with an amazing sunset. The host was incredibly accommodating and checkin- checkout was easy. This neighborhood area is close to shopping, activities, and the beach so everyone was happy. The house had everything we needed for a perfect stay and I greatly appreciated the cleanliness and all the essentials needed to cook/grill at home along with the beach accessories and ice chests to take off for the day’s adventures away. We would seriously love to come back again and again. It was our second time visiting Kauai and by far the best stay. Thank YOU!!! We love your place and the kids did too!!!

Private, conveniently located, expansive comfortable space-just what I wanted. However, I paid a hefty cleaning fee & in return expected the place to be clean upon my arrival!!! There are places in that house that have not been cleaned. In primary bedroom, floor behind pullout sofa was disgusting! No furniture has been pulled out to clean behind. Dead roaches under bathroom sink, sheets well worn & closet door off track. Lots of dust on a/c, lights, pictures, table candles, mounding. Light bulbs burned out, fridge needs water filter replacement, huge crack in pool & much missing tile grout around pool. Worn fry pans & chipped wooden utensils. Needs a covered garbage can in kitchen.

Absolutely lovely home, closely located to many of Koloa/Poipu spots, and beautiful views. Only point worth noting is that the pool is ~4.5 ft deep all the way across so if you have little ones that aren't confident swimmers, floaties etc are likely needed. Also there are beach chairs and an umbrella that was available but depending on your kids, may want to consider bringing some supplemental sand toys. Again we all had a fantastic experience and can't recommend this property enough.... Would absolutely look to rent again in the future.

Beautiful property on the 17th teebox of Kiahuna Golf Club with ocean view. Truly a paradise with amazing outdoor living space including an extensive lanai and patio with pool. Very quiet, well-maintained neighborhood. 5 minutes to beach. We had a wonderful stay - parents, 2 teenagers, and Grandma. — everyone had their space and the floor plan was easy flowing. Wish we could live there year-round!

This house was spacious and airy and located in a beautiful neighborhood. The outdoor space was the reason we rented this house and it did not disappoint with plenty of outdoor seating and patio space. Overlooking the golf course with the ocean view in the backdrop created a perfect scene. It was nice to have patio chairs and umbrella available for beach days.

Our family has stayed in a variety of vacation properties on Kauai for the last 20 years including other homes in the Kiahuna Golf Course setting. We enjoyed this home most of all. The interior of the home has a spacious, easy flowing floor plan with vaulted, high trussed ceilings. The furniture and art are Hawaii themed and of high quality. The outdoor areas, pool and views are fantastic. This is a very quiet and private neighborhood that gives one the feeling of being away from the crowds. We highly recommend this home and it’s host for a special stay in the Poipu area.

We stayed at John’s home for our family trip to Kaua’i. We were very happy with the house and its location. It is close to Po’ipu beach and a short drive either to the west side of the island with beautiful botanical gardens or east to the airport (for helicopter rides). The place was perfect for a family, quiet, perfectly clean and comfortable. The house was missing some basic amenities (olive oil, shampoo in sufficient quantity, etc), but that is very easily fixed. Everything else was perfect.

Our family of four stayed here for 5 amazing nights and loved every moment. The house was immaculate, great kitchen, easy check-in process (even arriving in the dark). Host was quick to respond with any questions. Excellent location, 5 minutes drive to the beach and only 3 minutes to restaurants and shopping. Beds were very comfortable, lots of pillows, a/c in each room, big beach towels were also made available. Peaceful golf course view (with daily rainbows!). Sea turtles basking every night at Poipu beach was such an added treat for our family. This home was a perfect way to spend the holidays in Hawaii. Thank you for a wonderful stay John!
