FLORENCE ITALY PERFECT CASETTA BONSI HOUSE
This is a charming small house in an excellent Florence historic location, just two blocks from the landmark Ponte Vecchio. You will enjoy the feeling of living in a home with a terrace, right in the center of Florence!

Cross the Ponte Vecchio going towards the Pitti Palace, take a quick left up a little street, and you're home in two minutes after morning of sightseeing, an afternoon of shopping, or a long lunch. Just on the other side of the river is the famed Uffizi Gallery, only an five minute walk from the house.
One of the most surprising aspects is that this is truly an independent house, on its very own little piazza, the tiny 'Piazza de' Bonsi ' and was built in 1890 by the longtime Florentine Bonsi della Ruota family.
The spacious living room has a beautiful antique painted Venetian china cupboard, lovely Tuscan dining table and chairs, and a comfortable sofa that includes a pop-up trundle bed that can be made up into two twin beds or a king-size bed. Enjoy breakfast in the kitchen if you prefer at the little counter that overlooks onto the private garden of the lovely villa next door. Off the kitchen is a small laundry room with washing machine.
The bedroom is upstairs with a king-size bed and beautiful Tuscan armoire and dresser. Off the upstairs landing is the private terrace where you can take your morning espresso or sip a glass of Chianti as the sun sets over this dazzling city. The bathroom is nicely appointed, clean white tile and marble, enclosed shower, bidet, good water pressure, lots of storage and halogen lighting.
Casetta Bonsi della Ruota is conveniently located, you can walk to all the major attractions.

Our stay here was very nice, offering privacy and not in the chaos of the city center. The pictures do not do it justice! It's adorable and still very convenient to all activities, restaurants, shopping, etc. Unfortunately, it was relatively cool inside for most of our stay, with the average temperature of 18.2 Celsius or 65 Fahrenheit. I would imagine this is ideal in the spring, summer, and autumn.

Lovely little house, great location. Walking distance to just about everything you will want to see. Our greeter, Cristiana was pleasant and helpful. A bottle of wine and sweet treats were left for us upon our arrival. Would highly recommend this place. We thoroughly enjoyed it. The hill you must walk up to get to the house might be a challenge to some. We are in our 70s and in good shape, and so it was not a problem for us.

Our property was so nice! It was clean, well laid out, and charming.The kitchen was just fine for our breakfast and snack snacks. The outdoor veranda on the second floor is beautiful.Well, the person that helped us with check-in was very nice, we got a wrong address and it kind of got us off on the wrong foot. And also took her a while to get there with the key. I do wish that would’ve been a little bit more smooth, but perhaps it was just the day. Just FYI this apartment is up a very large hill. Be prepared to walk it several times a day!!

Overall, this was an authentic and quaint little house, and probably an ideal home-base for a short vacation in Tuscany. If you have other needs such as longer stay for work/travel, reliable internet, and a comfortable kitchen to cook regularly then you may need something else.
It has 2 floors and is filled with antiques and antique furnishings.
Maurizio was a great host, meeting us whenever we ran into any issues and explaining in great detail on the cottage's functionality.
The cottage was centrally located in the Oltrarno near the Ponte Vecchio (about 5 minutes) with a grocery right around the corner, an awesome cafe (Golden View Open), and lots of restaurants nearby. We walked everywhere our entire 2 week stay in Florence.
Maurizio and his wife were very welcoming with a bottle of wine, fruit and cookies. The amenities were nice from the soft white towel sets and bathroom toiletries to the coffee and kitchen condiments.
Regarding noise, the property sits in a little square where many people park their mopeds and motorcycles. So there is some level of noise as they are frequently started and parked.
Personally for us we ran into a few issues. We were in this property in December and it was cold. The heating system was on a coded timer and couldn't be adjusted. Since the floors are a stone tile and the windows weren't really insulated, it was actually colder in the apt than outside. Maurizio came immediately the next day and released the code so we could manually adjust the temperature to our liking which was better but still a little chilly indoors.
Another factor was hot water. Again since it was December and it was cold, the shower never achieved a comfortable heat level.
The Wifi, this is probably a country wide issue, but it was barely working. To check emails it was okay but for anything beyond that, it was hair-tearingly frustrating. We couldn't look up restaurants, book tickets, check out local events, stream videos, etc.
If we had come in the summer, maybe this would have been ideal, but the winter was definitely a factor in some of our issues with the property. Another mistake was that we booked this property last minute and in our rush we didn't thoroughly read the terms and agreements that Italy Perfect had us sign. So a few things were overlooked by us, credit card fees (20%) , the coded thermostat, etc.
Maurizio and Italy Perfect were prompt and did what they could to alleviate our issues.
