Welcome to the "High Cotton Beach Cottage," a cozy and relaxing getaway situated on a quiet stretch of Scenic Hwy 30A between Alys Beach and Camp Creek Lake, facing the beautiful Gulf of Mexico. This cottage is perfectly located between two public beach access points, just 200 yards in either direction, making it an easy 4-minute walk to the beach. Enjoy the serene gulf view from the rocking chairs on the covered front porch or unwind on the deck overlooking the private 12 x 24 pool.
With 1500 sq. ft. of living space, this beach cottage offers an attractive and comfortable accommodation for your family, destined to become your favorite summer vacation spot. The top floor features a spacious den with a large TV, a dining area with an additional television and a game table, a fully-equipped kitchen with a breakfast nook, and a convenient half bath. Although compact, the kitchen provides all the amenities you'll need while away from home. Stairs lead down from the kitchen deck to the fenced pool area, where you'll find an enclosed shower with hot and cold water. There's also an enclosed play area under the deck near the pool, complete with a sand sandbox and a swing. Downstairs, you'll discover three bedrooms (1 king and 2 queens), two full bathrooms, and a laundry area equipped with a full-size front-loading stackable washer and dryer. The surrounding area is abundant in natural beauty, charming shops, restaurants, and various outdoor activities such as golf, tennis, fishing, windsurfing, or paddleboarding. The bike path in front of the cottage runs the length of Scenic 30A, and there are bike rental shops nearby or feel free to bring your own. Additionally, Lake Powell, located nearby, offers a public boat ramp for waterskiing, jet skiing, and fishing.

This place is 10/10 for character, convenience, and coziness. I highly recommend this house if you like the old Florida beach house charm and don’t mind a quick walk to the beach. The private pool was perfect size for the entire family and a real game changer for our vacation. Loved, loved, loved our vacation at High Cotton.

The house itself was fine. The outside of the property needs work. Railing on back porch needs fixed. It is coming loose. We was afraid it would fall. Some of the boards on deck around the pool were loose and sticking up. This caused a trip hazard for some of us. The cleaning crew or the last renters did not sweep or clean the floors good. We found food crumbs and a lot of sand on arrival. Other than that it was a really nice place. We all enjoyed it. Made some happy memories.

Overall a cool property as far as flow, but was pretty run down and not very clean. The grounds around the house did not appear to have had any maintenance done to them in quite a while. A pressure washing and some coats of paint can go a long way. The stairs coming down from the back deck to the pool area had nail heads popping up in a quite a few places which is never fun when walking around barefoot. The outdoor shower really needs to be condemned, unless you like rotten wood and mold with your shower. Under the front decking by the main entry doors there are wasp nests. Unfortunately one of our guests was attacked by them and stung multiple times. The beach chairs provided were rusted out and defective. The supplied BBQ grill is on its last leg and was pretty nasty. On the inside, there are soft spots in the second level flooring which did not seem safe at all. For as much they charge to rent this place, I had higher hopes.
