About this cottage rental

Lovely 2 bed/2bath cottage in the midst of 250 private acres to enjoy. New pond in April of 2022. Whether it’s the privacy alone or the wish to experience nature to its fullest in all seasons , this tranquil setting will entice you to relax and forget about the pressures of life in these times. Located on a small creek that feeds into a designated wet land, nature abounds. Perfect for birders or an energetic hike, the graceful rolling hills of these Enchanted Mountains will refresh and inspire. Many maintained trails both in the open grasslands and the managed woods. Snowshoe or cross country ski in winter, partake of the native fruits including apples, blueberries, blackberries, rhubarb and more in summer. Just 6 miles from the city of Olean and all its various restaurants and shopping or St. Bonaventure University. Ellicottville with its excellent ski resorts and night life are just a scant 12 miles away A well stocked kitchen with all the amenities is a cooks delight. Enjoy the Weber grill or the fire pit in the back yard while you listen to the birds serenade. A special treat is the summertime fireflies by the thousands. They still thrill me after 34 years on the property! A large deck on the back of the house has an array of furniture to while away a peaceful couple of days or weeks. Leave the “ rat race” behind, you deserve it! New pond in adjacent field completed last year has greened up with mowed lawn and stocked with fish this April more coming the end of May. Come and enjoy!!

The house was clean, convenient to town and yet private. There was a pond the pups could swim in and then walk the well maintained, on property, private trails. David thought of everything to make his guests comfortable and is accessible as needed. We were in need of a break from the everyday and this fulfilled that need perfectly. Coffee on the deck was the perfect way to wake up and fires at the fire pit at night was a great way to wind down. We were totally relaxed during our stay and looking to find a Fall date that works for us to go back.

The property was beautiful. Great outdoor space with a fire pit, Weber grill, and spacious deck. Full, functional kitchen. It may sound odd to mention functionality, but if you have used rentals before, you appreciate a kitchen with up to date appliances and cookware. The beds were comfortable and the towels were soft. It is the best experience I have had with a VRBO stay. I would love to visit again.

1) Host David has gone above and beyond to make your stay comfortable . Easy instructions to follow 2) This property is the cleanest I have ever rented, and I camp alot with Vbro.com 3) When you enter the cottage, its very swanky and well decorated. It has high end appliances/fixtures and bathrooms are better then most 5 star hotels 4) Olean is a short drive for provisions, but David has got you covered. The kitchen is well stocked, you could easily cook for a group5) Absolutely peaceful and serene. The pond has some HUGE Fish in there, I caught every day I fished, saw some in the pond 14 "to 16" easily "Lunkers"

We had a wonderful time. The cottage was beautiful, well stocked, and very clean. The owner was available to us. The pond is stocked well and the grounds were beautiful. The cottage does sit on a street that is frequently used by neighbors, so we had to watch our pups a lot. The pond was up the street and around the corner which was inconvenient. Overall, it was a beautiful spot to stay! Thank you.

I booked this last minute as a Father's Day gift to my husband who loves all things nature. The property was just beautiful, inside and out. It was peaceful and private with comfortable beds and strong enough wifi for me to work remotely. David left clear instructions for everything we would need and check in was easy. We were in town for a family reunion. We normally stay in Olean NY and decided to try a new location. I was worried that Hinsdale would be too far out. We were pleasantly surprised how close it was to Olean NY. We enjoyed the views and quaintness the cottage offered. We’re definitely considering coming back for the next family reunion. The cottage was very clean and well equipped. We thoroughly enjoyed the peace and wildlife at the cottage!

Absolutely the perfect place to stay in southwest New York. Property is expensive with all kinds of trails, the home is beautifully appointed and clean. Has everything you need to use as a base camp for hiking or stay in for a quiet weekend.But most importantly, it has a dishwasher! Will stay here again.

Check-in information given effortlessly, cottage very clean, comfy and well equipped with items to make the stay evenmore enjoyable. Great communication! Second time at the cabin. A perfect spot to unwind, relax and to catch up on some reading. Dogs loved to run the land as well as walk some of the local trails. First visit to Allegany State Park- highly recommended. Looking to return to this gem in the near future.

Wonderful rental - so cozy & beautifully decorated. The gas fireplace was fabulous for the winter trip we took to the area. There was continued snow for the duration of our visit which turned the property into a winter wonderland & David ensured the driveway was plowed and entry was shoveled. We will be returning!

Quiet, only nature sounds when on trails and near house. Pretty private, beautiful scenery, hiking & fishing. Stargazing is incredible here, LOOK UP! My girlfriend and I stayed at David’s cottage to unplug and unwind for our anniversary. While we found ourselves using the tv as Penn state disappointed us against OSU, that was the only disappointment during the wonderful weekend we had. The immediate back yard had a great view of the hillside. The house was well stocked for our long weekend, David is pretty thoughtful as a host! Great kitchen and nice grill set up with lots of prep space. Our only heads up for booking: ticks! Bring a pet safe tick kill spray and a fine comb (cheap, effective) or Walmart had many in Olean (15 min away). 100/10 will check to come back during ski season

We were lucky to get this cabin in Hinsdale just as the fall leaves were fading. It's the perfect 2-bedroom layout with a big common space and kitchen. The owner left perfect directions for the amenities and information on nearby hiking locations. I would book this place again in a minute.

Wow- a wonderfully quaint cabin surrounded by heaven. So many trails to hike on, our 2 dogs enjoyed the walks as well as wading in the pond. The inside of cabin was so comfortable, loving the fireplace on the cold rainy days. The kitchen, bedrooms and bathroom were nicely done. David is wonderful! He was very responsive, friendly and accommodating. The cottage is beautiful and has absolutely everything you would need to feel at home. The property was beautiful and has many nicely groomed trails to explore the property. Not only did we love the property our dogs did as well, they slept for 2 days after we got home! There is a wonderful mowed area to enjoy lawn games and a fire pit for campfires. Something to note if you have small children or are planning on having your dogs off leash, the mowed area is close to a road and although the traffic is minimal you have to keep an eye on cars driving by. All in all I couldn’t be happier with our stay! We plan on returning and I’ve already told all my friends and family about David’s place. I would 10/10 recommend staying here.

This house was awesome! It was exactly as photographed. It was incredibly clean throughout which made us feel comfortable instantly. Great firm but comfy beds with plenty of bedding and pillows- I usually have trouble sleeping away from home, but no problems here! My dogs and I enjoyed the plush carpet in the bedrooms, they could have comfortably slept on it instead of in their beds. The living room was cozy to relax in, all the furniture was comfy and clean. My dogs loved the backyard, plenty of room for them to run on the property. I could go on and on about how much we enjoyed our stay. Unfortunately it rained both days, so it was too wet to take full advantage of the trails and pond area, so I will definitely be coming back to do so. Even though we couldn’t be outside as much as we wanted, the house was great and made for a great relaxing getaway away from the city. I wish I could’ve stayed longer!

What can I say as to the cottage. You know you found the right place to rent when you walk in the door and its feels like home! Dave was fantastic as to his level of communication; but more so how quickly he circled back as to confirming my reservation and with information as to checking in. He left additional check in information on the counter, which was extremely helpful. The cottage was spotless (realized in the guest book that another renter had check out the morning of my check in day, but you would have never known based on how spotless the cottage was). The kitchen was fully stocked, even with a Kitchen-Aid Stand mixer. The two bedroom and both bathrooms were wonderful, the master bedroom had a best mattress. Now lets talk about the tier deck. Perfect place to have breakfast and lunch each day, or to just relax on the lounge chair and read a book. The trails are well marked, and was a great way to start the day with a good 45-minute hike or walk each day. Dave, the owner, was fantastic in ensuring that my stay started off on a positive note, and he ensure that I had his contact information in case I had any questions. I would definitely recommend this cottage to anyone who is looking for a place to simply relax, recharge, and unwind for their hectic life. The house was amazing! Upon arrival The inside was spotless, immaculate cleanliness. The hiking trails on the property were a lot of fun and an added bonus. The back deck was perfect for morning coffee and breakfast along with relaxing on in the evening. We rented for my wife's 40th birthday get away and this place did not disappoint, it was amazing. The mattress for the bed was firm however the linens and bed sheets were top quality and spotless. We look forward to coming back and renting this property again in the future. We highly recommend this property it was perfect!
