I loved the outdoor space overlooking the town of Positano

The view from the balcony is amazing! The place is small but it has everything you'll likely need with a small kitchen and a large fridge. Overall we really enjoyed it and Positano was very pretty.

The shared balcony wasn't a huge issue, but the only windows in the unit were facing the balcony. So if you want privacy, it means you have no natural light / no view. The sound from the room next door was quite noticeable when someone was talking or making noise. The place is a bit of a walk up stairs and along a busy road (typical in Amalfi).

The room itself is much darker than the photos show. You do have a balcony but it’s not private in any way and you will get to know your neighbors (not always a bad thing). The room is muggy and does not have good air circulation so that was definitely a downside. I had to leave my bath towel (two full size towels are given to you) on the balcony to dry since it wouldn’t dry in the room. One other downside - there does not seem to be very much privacy at all - you can hear your neighbors very well. The city tax situation - the owner (or someone I think is the owner) came almost through our door when I was not decent. She would have come all the way in without knocking or anything if my husband hadn’t stopped her. After much time trying to understand her, we finally realized she was trying to collect the city tax. There was no information or warning over text that she was on her way to collect the city tax. She was very nice but at many times we saw her peeking in through the shutters throughout our stay.
