Lovely stay at a pretty venue - thank you!

The room was spacious and well decorated. The beds were very comfortable, with lovely cozy duvets. We also loved that 2 bottles of still water were provided free of charge. We had a delicious buffet breakfast and they kindly made us some fried eggs as well - thank you. The cappuccinos were fabulous (we love a good coffee!). The setting is very pretty, with lots of space to sit in the gardens. We felt very secure, no safety issues. We loved the resident dog - a gorgeous boerbul!

ROOM: Our family who slept downstairs said they heard the people in the room above them when they walked around. We unfortunately were woken by some noisy Instagrammers doing a photo shoot outside our bedroom. The management did apologise, so all is forgiven! BREAKFAST: The waiter struggled to serve both us and help a party of visitors who were setting up a 21st brunch in the next-door function room. He was running from one room to the next, trying his hardest to please everyone, but it was frustrating having to wait for him to return so that we could order cappuccinos, fried eggs, etc. There were no spoons at our table so we also had to wait for the waiter to come back, then he could look for them. I tried to find them myself behind the counter in the breakfast room (it was pretty mucky there... a little cleanup would be good?). It would have been much better to have a dedicated waiter for the guests who were staying in the accommodation. A NOTE FOR THE NOISE SENSITIVE: When we arrived, there was loud music playing (Saturday afternoon), so we were not able to take an afternoon nap - it might be an idea to turn down the volume? Also, be aware that there is some road noise, as the venue faces a main road. We could hear some noise of the people in the neighbouring room, so be careful not to make too much noise yourself!

I love staying here when I need to be in De Zalze for business meetings. It is close, and the facilities are excellent. Love that it has a restaurant on site.

Ideally situated, room comfortable and adequate.

The breakfast was very poor. I don’t mind a simple breakfast but we had to ask for more scrambled egg and bacon to be made available as bins were empty and the bacon was not even decently cooked when it arrived. We went elsewhere on second morning.

Beautiful farm and also beautiful venue with very friendly and eager to help staff. We booked at Val De Vine for one night to attend a conference nearby. We loved the location and will certainly recommend Val De Vine to all my family, friends and colleagues.

We were very lucky to get a little upgrade to a room upstairs with a patio. The room was very nice although completely you could here everything from the other rooms as the attic is kind of open and all connected to the other rooms. It is well located near by stellenbosch if you do have a car. The Garden is currently under construction but I can tell, it will look beautiful once it’s done.

The pool is not very inviting it’s time to change pool furniture as they are not in the best condition. Breakfast offer definitely need to be improved. You have only one Choice of a very limited menu.1 coffee OR juice is included - for water you have to pay extra. Very odd.

Very disappointing and a complete ripoff

Nice bathroom, friendly service, overall pretty setting but unfortuntaly thats all.

There were 2 massive 21birthday parties going on on BOTH nights we were there, so Friday and Saturday night and our room was basically direclty located next to their event space. It was crazy loud and we didnt get any proper rest. Around 11 PM when the music was still going on we checked with the manager who then sorted it out real quick and it got quiet very soon but still, the fact there was so much going on basically the entire weekend when we wanted to come there to relax was very disturbing. Also, our room description said we would get a "garden suite with a private garden" next to it - and given the quite steep price we paid I definitely expected much much better for the room. Our "garden" was placed DIRECTLY in front of a parking lot - our room was not even equipped with a mini fridge (would have expected that with a "suite") and there were always garden workers outside directly in front of our room, so I felt like we had no privacy at all. Then, for the breakfast, only filter coffee was included, I had to pay for a cappuccino and an orange juicy extra (again, I paid A LOT for this 2 nights stay and would have expected to have those drinks included). Breakfast staff was friendly but acted very confused, kept bringing our orders to another table etc. And lastly, on that one day we were promised to get a "breakfast to go" since we had to leave very early in the morning for a running event. There was absolutey no staff member to be found in the hotel at this time (it was around 6 AM on a Saturday and again, this request was communicated on the day before and confirmed by the lady who has checked us in.

Good apart from being locked out.

Lovely restaurant and pool. Self catering if you were staying longer. Lovely gardens just started so they will be beautiful.

We were locked out on arrival despite telling them we would be arriving off a flight arriving at around 7 pm which we did. Gate was locked and no way to access the property at all unless you had an SA phone fully charged and in data which we did not as we’re traveling from France!! We hooted and eventually another guest heard us and came to our assistance with a local phone. Not a good way to start one’s stay and if she hadn’t heard we’d have been locked out all night!!

The location was great, close to the venue where we attended a wedding.

The rooms were clean and charming, but bathrooms were really small, I battled to get around. I had to basically climb over the toilet to get into the shower. One of my friends rooms did not have warm water for both days, which is not acceptable.

Alex treated us very well but everyone here was superb!

the pool had sun and shade so we had the best of both worlds and I got to lounge in the pool while my partner relaxed in the shade :) The staff were insane as well so much fun and the tree out the back near the petrol pump was so funny it was a real paradise.
