The common parts of the hotel are nice, the rooms could be much better

The staff did make our beds, nor did clean the room once. No useful basic tips on the island’s life, which can be challenging — restaurants if not reserved are impossible, beaches are secluded. Perhaps they give too much for granted.

Superbe accueil et prestations de grande qualité. Nous avons dormi une nuit et avions pris la pension complète, hormis l’heure du dîner qui était assez tôt (18h) le repas servi a été de très grande qualité. L’emplacement est idéal à 1 mn de la plage avec des snacks et petites boutiques à côté. Le personnel est très professionnel et accueillant, en bref magnifique séjour !

We had such a lovely time at Pension NiraiKanai and would happily return. The location is fantastic if you're after beach access — it's just a short walk to the water, with plenty of eateries, shops, and even karaoke spots nearby for evenings when you want a change of pace. What really elevated the stay was the staff. They were warm and attentive from check-in onward, always ready to help with any question or request — the kind of hospitality that makes a trip memorable rather than just comfortable. The room itself was well-appointed and had everything we needed to relax after a day out. Meals were a highlight too — breakfast and dinner had a different spread daily, with both western and local Okinawan options, and we genuinely looked forward to each one. The snorkeling trip they arranged was the standout experience. Two hours out on the water with professional guides who took us to incredible spots — clear visibility, abundant marine life, and we even spotted several sea turtles. The water gets deep in places, but the guides kept things safe and fun throughout. We had to cut our trip short due to an approaching typhoon, but the pension deserves real credit here — they gave us advance notice, let us decide whether to head back to the mainland, and then helped coordinate our ferry booking so we could leave safely the next day. That kind of care during an unexpected situation says a lot about how much they look after their guests.

Everything was perfect. We love it.
