Hanamuro Inn Aka Island

Pretty little house, lovely hosts full of attention and helpful for rebooking our ferry due to weather circumstances. Delicious food home made. I can only recommend to experiment Aka Jima at Hanamuro Inn! 💕

The staff were so friendly. It's a lovely, calm, quiet place. The food was delicious. The out-bath very nice. Beaches are lovely. Thank you for having us.

Pillows were a little hard and high

We were a little surprised when we first saw our room -- like a cube, with side walls cement block with two twin beds side by side spanning nearly the entire width. But with the back wall all glass and front wall all a sliding glass door, great A/C and fan, the room opening to a pretty outdoor patio area, and the entire place kept immaculately clean -- actually felt cozy and comfortable for our 3-night stay. That being said, the weather was beautiful so we were out and about most of the day...maybe a different story if it had been very rainy. Beds were very comfortable.

(1) Despite many reviews talking about great food there ... there was no food prepared there at all, as it was too early in the season I guess?? So just a word of advice, check ahead of time about meals -- and not just at hotel, but also on the island, so you can plan ahead! While they had a fridge and very SMALL microwave, the kitchen for cooking was not for guest use, and food choices on the island was extremely limited! (In fact, they told us when we arrived no breakfast was served anywhere on the island and we were directed to the 1 supermarket on the island -- it's tiny and not like a konbini where you can get pre-prepared food or a lot of microwavable food. Almost all places were also closed even for lunch/dinner as well -- we found another hotel that had opening for a dinner reservation one night but it was 5500 yen per person. For only one out of the 3 days we were there, the cafe nearby was open for lunch, but it had about 4 tables in it and no availability. The one izakaya open in the evening until 7:30 PM was a food truck with a few dishes - charming but not filling.) So just be warned, check ahead about meal availability and plan ahead! (2) while a comfortable place to sleep and hang out in the outdoor patio area, with bad weather we would have been stuck in our tiny room since the patio/lobby area is outdoors and not covered. (3) While tiny room felt less claustrophobic with windows being two of the walls, there were no screens -- so no fresh air without insects being allowed in.

The location, staff very friendly and accommodating, had a relaxed feel .

Having a shared bathroom, room was tiny, lights from outside basically made our room like daylight all night.food included was nice but you don’t get any choice,so hard if you don’t like a certain thing. For the price it was very overpriced.
