Het Nekkerhof B&Bio

De ontvangst was hartelijk. De kamer is wat klein, de bedden zijn goed zo ook de douche. Je kunt ook buiten zitten, goed ontbijt.

De kamer was kleiner dan we gedacht hadden, we bleven er twee nachten en dan is een luie stoel wel fijn. Jammer dat met alle regen die we hadden, de fietsen niet binnen konden staan, al bood de eigenaar ons wel een dekzeil aan.

Jurn and Linda are great hosts who are there for you with anything you need: either helping with ordering pizza at a nearby pizza parlor at 9 pm after a long train trip (great pizza, recommended!) or having a chitchat during the breakfast. This B&B has a unique location, as it is only a 15 mins walk (there are also bus stops at a couple of minutes walk) from the center, but situated at a "hidden" hofje, so it is very quiet and and a very light sleeper like myself slept there really well. The studio is crispy clean, with a good rain shower, amenities like coffee machine/tea kettle with complimentary tea/coffee, bathrobes, slippers, hairdryer, shower gel/shampoo and several sorts of biological beers from a local brewery in the fridge for a modest price. The breakfast is not only mainly made by Linda herself but is custom-made for tourists from different countries and as such different tastes. The folder in the studio contains all the information you may possibly need about Mechelen, from restaurants "approved by the hosts themselves" and shops to different walking/cycling routes in and around Mechelen. All details have been thoroughly thought of. For relaxation I'd recommend Alchemy Thai massage parlor where I had a relaxation massage and it was absolutely satisfying.
