Wanderers Cottage

The property is set amidst an immaculate olive grove, and the property itself looks out over the bay to Bruny Island.

The property was lovely, with all the amenities you could possibly want.

Wanderers Cottage is a beautifully quaint and stylish cottage, offering complete privacy and peace with lovely views overlooking the olive farm. It has been thoughtfully and tastefully furnished, creating a very welcoming and comfortable atmosphere. Being the middle of winter, we particularly appreciated how warm and cosy the cottage was, with several heating options available. The heated bathroom was also a wonderful touch and made the chilly nights/mornings much more comfortable. We were delighted to arrive to a freshly baked loaf of bread, along with bacon, fresh eggs, tomatoes and marmalade in the fridge. There were also chocolates beside the bed, and a lovely bottle of wine provided as a special gift for the occasion we were celebrating. These thoughtful touches were very much appreciated and made us feel especially welcome. Communication with the hosts was prompt, friendly and helpful throughout our stay. They were very responsive whenever we had a question. Overall, Wanderers Cottage is a beautiful, peaceful and thoughtfully appointed place to stay, and we really appreciated all the care and attention that had gone into making our visit special.

Unfortunately, on arrival we discovered that the bathroom had not been cleaned and that the bedside tables had not been dusted. We contacted the host immediately, and she apologised and explained that she had needed to send the cleaner home early that day as she was unwell and did not want her germs in the cottage. The host kindly offered to clean the bathroom herself the following morning. However, as we needed to use the bathroom that evening, we advised that we would clean it ourselves. The host again apologised profusely about the situation when we checked out, and we appreciated her explanation and response. We were also concerned about the cracked floor tiles directly beneath the shower. Some of the tiles had uneven, unsecured edges, which we felt could potentially cause an injury to bare feet. We would strongly recommend having these repaired or replaced for guests' safety. Overall, while we appreciated the host's communication and apology, the cleanliness on arrival and the condition of the shower floor were disappointing and are areas that we feel need attention.

Amazing perfection. The cottage is like a warm hug after a day of exploring Bruny Island and Hastings Caves. Fresh warm bread greeted us as did Sam the wonder dog. The cottage is everything you want and more.

Absolutely nothing.

The location was excellent for all the activities we had planned, The breakfast included was very good, could not have asked for more. The bed was very comfortable, the property is beautiful with plenty of wildlife. The hosts were lovely people and Helen baked us a fresh loaf of bread on arrival. The little or should I say the lot of little extras were unexpected and very much appreciated, made it feel like home.
