Domus Aurelia

Our host Monica is amazing. Very attentive and helpful. Room was very spacious and clean with AC. The place is close to Metro line which makes getting to main area of Rome very easy but it is a way out and not walkable without public transit.

Swimming pool area is not as pictured and you must pay to use it and use a swimming cap.

Property was spotless. Had essentials (washing up liquid, toilet/kitchen roll. Pool adjacent to property was much needed after a hot day sightseeing but could do with a revamp - however this was separate to the property which had everything we needed for a 5 night stay.

The 3 bed apartment is a spacious, comfortable apartment with everything you need for a great self catering stay. The proximity to the metro is a real bonus. The terrace is fabulous and it has all the appliances you could need. The outdoor pool is a huge bonus and the reason we booked but it’s not made completely clear that the pool is run by a third party and costs 10-15 euros per person per day to use. Monica the host is also very friendly and helpful.

The apartment is a little dated and tired in places to be considered ‘luxury’. The apartment block is also dated and the pool area could do with a clean and an upgrade as it’s such a selling point. Admission prices for the pool need to be clearer on the property listing also. The 3rd bedroom is very small but the availability of other sofa beds meant this wasn’t a problem.

Monika, the apartment host, was very kind and answered all our questions. The apartment is located a 10-minute walk from the metro, which makes getting to the center of Rome very simple and quick. The apartment is equipped with everything needed for a comfortable stay. We needed extra towels because we used the existing ones when visiting the pool, and they were delivered very quickly. During the first two days, we still had workdays, and the internet worked very well, allowing two people to work at the same time. There is also a beautiful balcony/terrace. The apartment had not only a washing machine, but also laundry tablet that we could use. In Rome’s 36-degree heat, this was very important. If possible, I will definitely return.
