Bob's House quiet retreat with large shared garden

The host was so friendly, attentive and kind and the property felt like home! Beds were comfortable, house was in a quiet area and the decor was different and inviting. The kitchen had everything we needed and the electric blankets were a really nice little homely touch. It's not all posh and modern, it's homely and comfortable - exactly as I like it to be. The short turn into the street has some pot holes that the Council need to be made to attend to.

This is a self catering property. A ideal situation for our needs in a quiet location. Parking beside the house. A very homely and spacious house and nice to have our own space with good efficient heating and plenty of hot water. There are plenty of games and books for children. Also a stock of used books to borrow or swap with. A large garden with table and chairs and a rotary washing line plus a conservatory. The bed was warm and comfortable with an electric blanket too. Useful information and instructions provided and Joanne was most helpful when needed

The refrigerator is rather old and tired and could do with being replaced.

A lovely home, with everything provided you would expect to find in your own home. quiet area, shops/takeaways close by. off road parking. walkable to university. didn't meet the hosts but knew they lived next door. key safe to enter. large garden but didn't use, sitting outside - didn't use.

its a large property, The house needs a deep clean - a lot of dust, i pulled my bedside unit forward for the plug and the dust was terrible, and skirting boards. its a very cluttered house, Cot in lounge and bedroom. lots of games, books, DVDS, food in cupboards - but opened packs of crisps etc need to be chucked. Fridge - make sure its turned on, we didn't notice until the next day it was switched off. Internet - Poor and kept losing signal so used our own data, 3rd single bedroom you enter via the bathroom (we didn't use this room) FYI i read about free eggs as a gift from the chickens and was looking forward to these - but unfortunately they've stopped supplying these as someone stole the egg basket/holder. (you can purchase them for £1 which is a great price)

Its location was perfect for us, just a short walk to the University, which was the main purpose of our visit to Loughborough. What truly made this stay unforgettable was Joanna. From the moment we arrived, there was a warmth in her welcome that went beyond hospitality. She made us feel seen, cared for, and genuinely at home. In Joanna, we didn’t just find a host, we found a friend. Her presence brought a sense of comfort and connection that’s hard to describe, but deeply felt by us. The house carries its own soul. It’s rich with history, and that history has been beautifully preserved and shared. Every detail, every corner, seemed to whisper stories, adding depth and character to our days there. It’s a home that holds memory, and now, it holds ours too. With grocery stores and places to eat nearby, it was easy to settle in. But what we’ll carry with us isn’t just the convenience, it’s the feeling. The feeling of being welcomed, of being part of something quietly special. We leave with gratitude, with fond memories, and with the comforting sense that when we return, we’ll be returning to more than just a house, we’ll be returning to a friend.
