This 1 BR apartment is just across the highway from San Diego's Little Italy section. It's also right off of I-5 and the entry to I-5 is easy enough for a skilled driver. While the neighborhood is otherwise quiet and you can't really hear the highway, there is much plane noise. There's a fair amount of street parking but no dedicated parking lot or garage. . The house is inside a locked gate with an unlit keypad. Once up the stairs, there's another keypad (lit) to get inside the apartment itself. The apartment is simple but equipped well enough with a kitchen, including toaster. The living room is big enough to have friends over. The only bathroom is through the bedroom, and the layout of the bathroom means someone showering will wake up someone else sleeping in the bedroom as there's no separating wall. (The WC/toilet is separate, though.) . The air-conditioning stopped working while I was there, but the property owner got a repairman onsite the same day to fix it and all was well. (That's why it's in the "Liked" section of the review!)

If you don't know the area, this section of town is immediately under the approach path for the main San Diego airport which means planes are a few hundred feet over the apartment, and those planes are *loud*! While the noise and the artificial wind and sound of the air vortexing don't bother me (I sleep with noise-canceling earbuds,) anyone who wants to sleep before the nightly airplane curfew or wake up late will need to be aware of this issue. . There is a weak spot in floor at the entry to the bedroom and I was concerned it would give way and I'd shatter an ankle. It didn't, but be aware of it. . While the apartment is on the ground floor, it's a hilly neighborhood, so you access the property via two stairs outside the gate and about 18 stairs once inside the gate. However, the inside stairs are a different height and pitch than the outside ones, so going up is easy, but when coming down the inner stairs and going out the gate, it's *very* easy to misjudge the outer stairs and fall. . The living room is big enough to have friends over, but one doesn't find out until the day of check-in that *no visitors are allowed,* period. I suggested to the property manager's staff that they update their listing's property rules to list this ahead of time, but there was enough of an obvious language barrier - they suggested I "update the booking" - that it won't get done. . When leaving the property, if you're heading to I-5 south, it requires cutting over three lanes in 500 feet as you go under the highway and merge into all the airport-bound traffic getting off the highway. . Street parking is an issue if you get to the apartment after about 20:00. Expect to walk a couple of blocks. . It's expensive, but anywhere that close to the city with freeway access and air-conditioning will be expensive.

Apartments had everything you need for several days of staying. Suite is conveniently located in 10-15 minutes from Little Italy and downtown.

Bed was quite small for two people and you can definitely hear the planes flying above, fortunately, they almost don’t fly during nighttime.

It’s so noisy. The planes fly by so close it’s so loud in there from basically 6am until late at night. The dishes were dirty and on the drying rack instead of the cabinets as if someone just washed them.
