One Bedroom Apartment with San Diego Downtown View

I'm from San Diego but moved to the Midwest a few years ago. I come to visit but often times stay with friends and family. After a weekend at another rental for gals weekend, I decided to book a couple of nights alone in a centrally located place. This complex is right next to Balboa Park and downtown, so everything is within walking distance if you want to go out and see places. The unit I had was on the third floor, which gave me a great view of downtown and plenty of fun for plane spotting if you like watching airplanes. The units are a little older and come with a microwave, coffee maker, and refrigerator. My unit had plates, bowls, and other items. Basic needs met. Everything worked well, and my bed was incredibly comfortable. For me personally, that was the biggest highlight of the place. I really enjoyed the size and comfort of the bed. Aside from a midday walk around the harbor and downtown, I spent the entire day inside my unit, working with a lovely view. There's a CVS across the street if you need quick provisions, a couple of bars around, coffee shops, and easily walkable to downtown, Little Italy, the Prado, and the harbor. Why I gave it a 10. I didn't need fluff or bougie, just something simple. The place isn't state-of-the-art or fancy. It had good security and Wi-Fi and was well priced. In my experience, it wasn't meant to exceed expectations; it was clean, the bed was huge, and the unit was spacious, which is hard to find nowadays. That's all I needed, and I had a pleasant stay. The rate matched what I was looking for, and so I give it a ten.

The units are all separated and stacked. You need access to your unit tower, so you can't walk up to another floor and roam. There's a code for each tower, so be sure not to forget your phone, or you'll get locked out. You have to access your unit in your tower, so it may seem confusing at first. Once I figured it out, I actually liked how they are separated. My unit was on the third floor, and there is no elevator, so you have to walk up with your belongings. I don't mind at all, but others may. It's nothing I didn't like; it's just a heads up for anyone who may have trouble walking up stairs.

The unit was really well set up & clean, it was nice to have a separate bedroom. The living area had great view of the city, comfortable seating and dining, and everything we needed. The location was perfect, easy to walk to downtown San Diego or Balboa Park. We read some reviews complaining about the proximity of the airport and overhead flights. We didn’t find it noisy at all and enjoyed watching the planes flying past.

Difficult to find unmetered parking. We were OK because the owner gave us the one free parking spot right in front and we just kept our vehicle parked the whole time. Otherwise one would need to use the downstairs parking garage for $20 a night.

The location was great, and the space provided was satisfactory. However, the noise was so significant. The noise between floors was so severe that it was difficult to sleep and difficult to do anything comfortably.
