Situated in Mousehole, one of Cornwall’s prettiest fishing villages, this cottage is a cosy stay from which to explore the coast and beyond. The interiors are neutral-toned and homespun, with the occasional nod to the abode’s nautical surroundings. Spend late mornings pottering around the kitchen-living space; slather Cornish clotted cream on scones and enjoy with a pot of tea on the sun trap patio. Slip on your sandals and take a stroll along the harbour, just metres from your doorstep. Dip in and out of locally-owned galleries and cafes before settling in with an ice-cool beverage by the water’s edge. When you’re keen to expend a little more energy, lace up your walking shoes and set off on the fifty-four-minute ramble to Lamorna Cove Beach. As soon as hunger bites, take the ten-minute drive to the town of Newlyn for an irresistible selection of seafood restaurants – the Michelin Guide recommended Tolcarne Inn was one of our favourites.
