The Valley Tayrona hostel- A social jungle hostel

Came for the view, was definitely worth it! From the road it is a little walk to get there but you get very clear instructions. You can take a moto, but not perse necessary. The food is amazing!! Great kitchen! The vibes are great, lots of places to enjoy the view, there's a wonderful pool and jacuzzi. Good music and activities. Enough showers and very clean as well. A lot of space around the bed to put your stuff. Definitely recommend! From the road you can take the public buss very easy all the way to santa marta or palomino , just raise your hand for the white and green one. The person handling the money will help you, and knows where you have to get off. Definitely recommend instead of expensive options. Even with big backpack is possible, they take care of it.

Truly a social jungle hostel. Super friendly staff, local and volunteers, esp Luz, Santi and Hector, and friendly guests too! Easy to make plans. I loved being in the jungle. The mototaxi to the hostel was super scary at first but kinda fun in the end! Loved being close to nature. Pool and hangout spaces were great, fun salsa night.

One evening there was loud house music played which didn't really fit with the chill hostel vibes for me. I also thought that there could be more staff on breakfast duty because one guy had to do everything and it was hard because everyone wants to leave early for Tayrona! The food portions were also too big, I would prefer more small snack options or half portions. Also free black coffee in mornings would take pressure off bar staff.

Cool location and some great views

Food wasn’t great, everything was very muddy - understand you’re in the forest but it could have been cleaner. Private room definitely not worth the money, just stay in one of the more luxurious hotels nearby for less money.
