Warm welcoming accommodation

Friendly staff. Neat and clean accommodation Room was warm and welcoming. Really liked the fact there was decaf tea and coffee

Pressure in shower really low and pillows not too comfortable There was a tik tik sound throughout the night. Had to sleep with a pillow on my head

Pleasant stay in a friendly B&B.

The staff were friendly and the pizza I had for dinner was excellent, the best for a long time.

The room was very basic and the breakfast was provided by another cafe up the road, not the most pleasant breakfast I have ever experienced.

As I said good value but wish it was warmer

It was cheap and good value. Shame there wasn’t breakfast on site but the cafe next door had a lot of war time character

It was a bit cold and the heating could have been warmer as it was January. We were looking forward to going into a warm pub at 2100 but it was closed.

Great room with everything I needed for a few days. Comfortable bed and clean bathroom. Room was warm and facilities were good. Check in was quick and clear. Check out was easy.

WiFi was occasionally intermittent but while I stayed the host did mention this was due to roadworks and was a temporary WiFi.

Breakfast didn’t start til 9am and meant we were late leaving as we had a 7 hour journey ahead and would have preferred to have left by 9

Fantastic breakfast and comfy bed

Breakfast was excellent and of good quality, the toast was so big and proper butter. The bed was very comfy and added extra the little toiletries and the tea and coffee tray fully equipped.

The only thing was the little milk cartoons are never enough for me but that's a minor thing as the rear was fab

Breakfast was ok but no real choice ( just small, large or vegetarian) and we didn’t realise that we would have to walk to the cafe next door for breakfast. Not so good in the rain.

An unusual experience.

Unusual old inn with guest rooms around court.Plenty of parking Buried deep in the countryside.A quirky set up.When we were there it was a heatwave,so obviously we did not get the blazing log fire as advertised,and as a result and because of so few guests the interior of the picturesque old inn seemed to lack character.and was far from 'convivial'.There was also a strange situation for breakfast: .Instead of eating in the breakfast room/modern conservatory we had to go to the café down the road where the breakfast was fine ,but the service from the young lad was virtually silent. Room small ,but comfortable.We left our keys in the door on departure and saw no one .The whole place seemed deserted. All in all we had a reasonable stay,but felt the whole place,despite the promising picturesque setting and exterior, lacked warmth and character and did not live up to the advertised hype on the Internet. A missed opportunity,given the potential.

Fine for 1 night.

Comfortable room with nice touches like bottled water, tea/coffee and lots of toiletries. Ate in the bar and food was very good, as was breakfast which was in the Mariners cafe next door. Staff very friendly and helpful.

The bar was lacking atmosphere. If the fire had been lit it would have been more inviting .Furniture could have been more comfortable. They are changing the restaurant into an Italian and hope the bar will also get a makeover . It could be so lovely.

Great stay for one night!

Nice location. We stayed there on a Saturday which turned out to be Karoake Night.It was good fun, the crowd were enjoying themselves and it was a great village atmosphere.The staff were friendly and helpful.

Good venue for a short break.

The pub itself was very picturesque, beams inglenook fireplace. Evening meals were delicious & of generous portions. The rooms were clean & comfortable. The staff were friendly & helpful.

It was rather strange to find out,on arrival, to be told breakfasts were not available on site & we would have to walk along the road to the cafe next door. However, the breakfasts provided there were excellent & we couldn't fault the food or service given. There was only a small choice of desserts on the evening menu.

Very mixed stay

The evening meal and staff were great, it was low key but perfect for what I needed.

I booked breakfast for 8pm, they were all closed. I went back at 8:30, they were still closed so I left. The room was fine but the shower was just a trickle.

Nice staff, friendly but poor accommodation

The staff were welcoming, friendly and considerate. The room was booked for my mum who has mobility issues and the staff were very thoughtful and assisted her where they could.

If I’d realised the breakfast was served elsewhere, a short walk away I wouldn’t have booked it due to mobility issues, fortunately it was a good cpl of days with this so my mum was able to actually manage this. The room lacked a lot of TLC. It smelt damp and foisty, the walls were dirty and the carpet was even more so. The bathroom radiation was very poor condition with lots of rust. The shower wasn’t usable as it was scolding hot water only and the sink pedestal was hanging off. It’s a shame as the staff were so wonderful but the accomodation was very poor

Ideally located quiet and comfortable inn with great breakfast and good parking.

The inn was easy to find and the country village location meant it was very peaceful and quiet with no traffic noise but not too far back to a main road so ideal location. The room was clean and comfortable and had everything we needed including tea and coffee making facilities. It was also a good size as was the bathroom. Staff were all excellent - very helpful and friendly. Plentiful parking right outside the room. The breakfast choice and quality was also very good and freshly cooked.

The water pressure wasn’t the strongest for showering etc. but only a minor thing.
