Absolutely spotless and beautiful interior decor, high quality furnishings and kitchen ware. Stunning outlook across Sowerby and beyond.
Would have liked a proper shower rather than a shower attached to bath but no shower curtain etc

It's a lovely house. 3 double beds. Beautifully decorated and lovely living areas.
It was a bit cold, with no heating controls. Also, there is only one bathroom and no shower in the beautiful bathroom. This is clear from the information, but more inconvenient than I'd expected.

Lovely property, interior design was beautiful and it was very clean.
Only complaint about this property was there was only a bath, and you had to have a sit down shower as there was no screen.

A very convenient and attractively presented cottage which provided everything we needed for an enjoyable stay. Great views too! Highly recommended.
Like other reviewers, we did find the bathroom setup quite problematic—particularly for our group of four adults and a baby. With only a handheld shower over the bath and no screen or curtain, it took us a good two hours each morning to get everyone through the bathroom. This arrangement isn’t very practical, and we noticed signs of water damage to the bathroom floor and the ceiling below, which suggests previous guests have tried to use the handheld shower in a more conventional way.
We were a little surprised the owners haven’t addressed this, especially as it seems to be a recurring concern and the current setup risks further damage to the property. There’s enough space for a more functional solution—perhaps even a shower bath with a proper screen—which would make a big difference for guests, especially larger groups or families.
We’d happily return as a couple, but for now, we’d have to mark down slightly because of the bathroom situation. With that resolved, it would be an easy 10/10

The location was excellent, very central .
Halifax has a lot of hills but once you get a custom to them it is OK.

Lovely little cottage that was surprisingly spacious for our little family. Beautiful views from the front of the house. Lovely range cooker in very usable kitchen. Great central location and easy parking.
We would have preferred a shower cubicle as opposed to the bath tub. We were aware of this before we went, so it won't stop us coming again, but might be something to consider adding in the future.
I also struggled to get washing dry as it was wet weather and there was no airer or dryer.

Everything! I wish we had longer to stay here. the lounge was so cosy and the kitchen was ideal for us as a family. We loved the nespresso machine which even had decaf pods available. Phil and Clare were really helpful too, I sent them a message to ask something and they were straight back with a response. It was the prefect place to spend the weekend away for our daughters birthday 🤗 thank you so much.
nothing!

Very close to King Cross Road, but a secluded and peaceful spot. No problem parking on the road outside. An attractive house which has been recently decorated and furnished. The kitchen has a fridge (but no freezer), coffee machine, and large hob and oven. Lots of glasses, plates etc, although a bit short on oven trays. Good views over the Calder Valley. The Wainhouse Tavern at the end of the road does good food and excellent beer. A good info folder has been prepared by the hosts, although it took us a little while to find it (shelf under the tv!) - the wifi is good.

Immaculately clean with very tasteful decor and furnishings. Three good size double bedrooms and lovely roll top bath with shower attachment in the bathroom
The cottage contained everything you would need with beautiful crockery and pristine clean bedding and towels.
The views are lovely and parking easy. The cottage is on a quiet hill off the main road with good bus routes.
Nice outside space to enjoy eating outside if you wish.
Owners live next door and they are very friendly and helpful.

Lovely decor, helpful hosts and superbly comfortable beds
Didn’t spoil our stay, but would have been good to have an ice box in the fridge and a ceiling-mounted shower curtain around the bath to enable a shower rather than a bath.

Exceptionally clean and comfortable bed and pillows. Map of Halifax. A long way from town needs a car.
Lots of steep stairs. No soap in the bathroom shower was not great.
