    We arrived at 3 pm and were told that we had been allocated a room opposite a construction site. There was no mention of this at all with any correspondence with the hotel. They told us that there were no other rooms to be had - miraculously when we insisted that this was unacceptable and as free s as our half an hour they gave us an “upgrade” to a very crowded room facing the street. My husband injured his leg getting out of the bed which had very shallow wooden corners and no more than about 6 inches of space between the bed and the wall. The same can be said in the other side wheee the window was also about 6 inches from the bed. To make matters worse there was a third bed in the room which the cleaner converted into a sofa in the second day and pushed it up against the edge of the bed. So, if you don’t mind this inconvenience there are positives. The reception girls try to help. They will even walk out into the street to ensure you have understood directions. Maps in Japan are confusing at best.

    Every year we visited Japan, include Kyoto. This is our first time stayed at this hotel. When checked in, there was some issued regarding the politeness/manner of the receiptionist, but luckily it handle well by Den Nagase Deputy Senior Manager. Big applause for Den. So professional, polite that is we called 5 stars hotel treatment. Thank you, Den and surely we will back again visit your hotel.

    I made a mistake thought this one is a 5 star hotel.. this is probably a 2-3 star.. there are plenty other 3 star hotel closer the popular shopping center.. the park royal name trick people
