A perfectly good stopping place overnight on a journey through France.

A reasonably priced room for one night. Quaint entrance and wooden spiral staircase, not for the faint-hearted, but charming. Pleasant bar for a drink in the evening with a delightful bartender and interesting locals. Very good breakfast.

A little disappointed that the on-site restaurant was not open, although we found another nearby which was excellent.

Very large clean and comfortable room, bed was very comfortable. Large en-suite bathroom. Hotel is in a good location a short walk from the center of Saint-Flour. Ideal location for local bars and restaurants. Very close to the river that runs through the town. Enjoyed our one night stay and would stay here again. Proprietor very friendly he recommended a very good restaurant a short walk from the hotel.

The only negative was that the Wi-Fi signal was a bit poor at times.

Pierre, the host, was very welcoming and spoke excellent English. The evening meal was very good and great value for the money. Breakfast was not so good though. I wanted to change the pillows because they smelled terribly and that was done immediately without any problems. Another good point was that we weren't charged for the dog.

The room!! It was awful. It smelt disgusting. Once we'd changed the pillows and opened the window and left it for a couple of hours it wasn't quite as bad. We considered moving hotels but as it was only there for one night and late, we stayed. There were cobwebs hanging from the wall light over the bed and in the corners. It could have done with a small table, the only table was a tiny one beside the bed or you could use the window sill. Our room overlooked the main road, so we were woken early by the noise from the traffic. I have to say that, as we were leaving our room we saw a couple of the other rooms and they looked a better than the one we were in.

hotel room was clean, tidy and comfortable. we were in room 2 - a very good size. staff were lovely, very friendly and helpful. we also ate in the hotel's restaurant on the evening of our stay and the food was excellent. the chef apologised for the time it took for our meal - he didn't have to - as he wanted to make sure the meal was perfect - and it was!! breakfast was excellent in terms of both what was offered and price.

A convenient stop over close to the autoroute

The central location was useful and the use of a private parking space at the rear of the property was helpful. Shops etc were within easy walking distance but restaurant choices were limited.

A quirky location for the bedrooms with a spiral stone staircase inside a tower leading to the bedroom floor. This was difficult for my wife to negotiate due to limited mobility and the issue of access should be made clearer

The staircase is not suitable FOR access or egress and probably falls short of UK standards.

Pierre the owner was delightful and his Restaurant was typically French with basic cuisine offing fair value for money. The accommodation once accessed was basic but clean.

The access and egress to the accommodation was via a tight poorly lit, circular and uneven wooden staircase . Not suitable for anyone with any kind of physical problem. Almost impossible to climb and descend with luggage.

We've rediscovered the classic small French hotel de passage, with great food and wine.

Our room was spacious and the bed was comfortable and the shower was powerful. The food was classic Relait Routier - interesting and really good. Secure parking at the back for my car was important. The owner or manager does everything himself - so service etc. is excellent although inevitably occasionally slightly slow. I think he cooks I know that he is the only one who serves in the restaurant, issues the bill, takes guests luggage up the turret staircase to their room, etc. etc. He is great

He can get a bit stressed with everything he has to do!

All good would stay again but would give breakfast a miss

The location was awesome, the manager was very accommodating spoke very good English. The room was top notch for what we paid.

The road outside was very noisy all night. The breakfast was pretty poor to be fair, continental breakfast no meats or cheeses just a Bread roll and a cousant. No coffee waiteress not interested, and all for 7 euros each.

We preferred to stay out in a cafe sheltering from the heavy rain rather than return to a poorly decorated bedroom. The wardrobe doors were falling off no air conditioning could have been a prison cell.
