The house had been very attractively fitted out .. a very pleasing arrival, warm & cosy … very comfortable beds
On closer inspection there was a chocolate biscuit left from a previous occupant under the blanket on the sofa & pulling out a side table to use, hadn’t been cleaned.
The pans were not really fit to be used, the surfaces were coming off several of them ( probably people don’t normally cook when staying here)
The dining chairs were very wobbly !

The cottage was nice and cosy and had all the appliances and amenities we needed. The host kept in good contact with us throughout our stay. We came as a family of 4 as we visited Halifax yearly to go to the eureka museum during school holidays . We found the cottage very comfortable and cosy , we hope to return in the future
Parking was quite difficult as the cottage is situated on a high steep incline/ hill but neighbour kindly moved there car to give us more space.

The house was spacious and very well looked after, the beds were the comfiest I've ever stopped in whilst staying away from my own bed. Couldn't recommend this property enough 👌.
Liked everything.

Stained living room carpet and stale smoke smell.

- Good location for what we wanted
- lovely decor and homely feel
- quiet neighbourhood
- had the majority of essential items we needed
- beds were very comfy
- great shower
- as mentioned by others, the parking is an issue. We kept parking in the designated space and respectful of the neighbours. However, we were still asked by neighbours from both sides to move the car forwards or back so they could get an extra car in, we were pretty much asked to touch the car in front and were then blocked in by them near enough touching the back of our car!
- one neighbour did kindly tell us to move our car onto the pavement to keep clear of the bin lorry (which we felt bad being on the pavement but appreciated the heads up)
- needed a bit more cleaning. Lots of stains on the carpets and cobwebs in the bathroom
- recycling bin would have been good
- a tin opener would be handy

Good location with nice walks near by, about 10 mins by uber to hebden bridge
No toilet roll, basics, didn’t realised the garden is open and shared. So steep, dogs couldn’t get up so they basically had a shared alley way to go to the toilet. The beds were not comfy and sunk in the middle and at the sides. I told the landlord that there was no toilet paper, all he said was it’s really self service and as a good will gesture they usually leave one toilet roll and said he would reimburse me if I sent him a receipt. The place was dirty, cobwebs and stuff in the bathroom but the biggest let down was the garden! Not recommended for children or dogs or elderly people. It did not have a homely feel to it. Expensive for what it was and not good value for money, no nice extras to make it special

A lovely place to stay - information and instructions were clear . Ben communicated regularly to check everything ok. The house was well equipped and clean; it had everything we needed, including comfy beds and a great shower.
Nothing wrong with the property at all but back garden - which we were made aware of- was a little steep for our dog.

Beautiful location in a peaceful, quiet area surrounded by nature. Perfect spot to relax and unwind, with plenty of greenery and tranquility right outside the door. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a calm and scenic getaway
Cleanliness: The house wasn’t clean enough on arrival. The ground floor carpet—especially the entrance and living room—smelled strongly of cat litter and mold. There were visible stains on the carpet throughout the house, including upstairs, suggesting previous pets had soiled it.
Terrace and Garden: The main reasons I booked this property was the advertised terrace and outdoor dining area with a garden view. Unfortunately, the terrace was unusable on arrival—it was overgrown with grass and very difficult to access. Additionally, there was rubbish left outside the kitchen from previous guests, attracting neighbourhood cats that kept peeing by the door, causing an unpleasant smell that got into the house.
We did contact the host (Ben) immediately. He said he’d booked a gardener, but for two days after our arrival. While the gardener did come on the 30th and cleared the terrace, the rubbish wasn’t collected, so the cat problem (and smell) continued. It was really disappointing not to be able to enjoy the terrace for breakfast or lunch as planned.
Streaming Services: Note that you need to use your own accounts for services like Netflix.
Outdoor Furniture: Again, though advertised, this was effectively unusable because the terrace was not accessible or clean for most of our stay.
Overall: This property has genuine potential thanks to its location and layout, but it needs much better preparation and upkeep for guests to actually enjoy the features it promises. I hope the host addresses these issues, as it could be a lovely stay with more attention to cleanliness and readiness.

The location and the cottage were good, comfy beds and an updated bathroom and kitchen
the yard was too steep and terraced so not accessible for someone my age or for kids
car parking was a battle with the neighbours
no washing machine

Luddenden village is a beautiful location. The house was reasonably priced. Nice big towels and plenty of loo roll (I say this as I noticed comments from other reviews mention not enough - so host has clearly acted on this). Host was very communicative about an issue from the previous rental - but, this didn’t impact our stay.
The kitchen could have been a little cleaner and the saucepans have seen better days. The mattress in the main bedroom was so awful that we slept in the tiny back room. The pillows and bedding were very cheap/scruffy quality with no pillow protectors as you would expect in any rental. Strangely, there was no bath mat and we had to use one of the nice large towels. Parking on such a steep, narrow lane with no turning was a little stressful, but the house is on a hill in Yorkshire - so, I guess it’s to be expected.

could have been cleaner, behind bedside cabinates very dusty old ear plug and cigarette end found, cobwebs and dust in bathroom, only given one towel each, garden needs tidying up, tv could be bigger,

The cottage had everything we needed for our week! Comfortable and spacious. The wifi was great as we were working from here too. We were able to stream to the TV Disney+ etc which was great.
The parking was a little tricky, as it's on a hill and the slope at the bottom is quite steep. The neighbours didn't always leave much room either, not a lot of room to turn around at the top either. But there is street parking on the main road too wich isn;t far to walk.

We chose the location as we were visiting family living nearby. The location was lovely with hills all around and in a lovely village. The accommodation was spotless and tastefully decorated, with all of the facilities we needed.
Parking was a little tight, but we half-expected this as most of these small villages were built long before cars were even conceived!

Welcoming, excellent directions to access the property. Having a parking space outside the door exceptional. Inside welcoming, clean with all we needed to settle in immediately. Lovely themed artworks, and garden terraces very pleasant in the sunny weather! Beds were comfortable.
Thanks for a pleasant stay in a beautiful part of the world.
None of us could control the shower the hot water was inconsistant running from hot to cold very quickly.

Very nice little cottage. Well equipped and comfortable.
Slightly tricky to find and parking limited.
Not an issue for us as we were only there for a weekend but a microwave and washing machine would be great for a longer stay.

The house was lovely and warm, super comfortable and in a quiet location.
It was also very nice to have plenty of coffee/ tea supplies to arrive to! The kitchen was equipped with everything you need to cook over your stay including enough washing up liquid.
Comfortable beds, modern interior and just great! I've stayed in alot of places in and around Halifax and this one was a great stay. I will definitely look to book again for my next Halifax visit.
It's located up a steep cobbled lane which was impossible to drive up and park in my car as it is so low at the front, so I had to leave mine on the hill but I didn't recieve any issue with neighbours or tickets over a three night stay. So happy days!

House very cosy with excellent decor, furnishings & bedding, towels etc.
Lovely walk down through the graveyard & across the stream for the dog.
Great instructions & Ben (owner) really helpful.
Parking very steep & narrow, you need to reverse up or park on the street.

Stunning, stylish, cottage in the beautiful Yorkshire village of Luddenden.
Nothing it was beautiful and comfortable.

The location, plenty of essentials (tea, coffee, dishwasher tablets, bin liners etc), brilliantly clean, good for visiting Shibden Hall and the Bronte Parsonage.
The parking is very steep, as is the garden.

Clean and well decorated. Good location.
The back bed mattress was diabolical. I lay near the edge and it was so soft and worn i nearly ended up on floor. The neighbours were unfriendly and moaned about parking. One should be warned. Park right outside the house or get knocked out of bed late at night. No welcoming things I have hade at other houses.Tv was small and cheap.

Clean, both bedrooms were a good size, kitchen had everything we needed, perfect for a long weekend.
Only one pub (drinks only) that was a walk away, all other amenities needed a car.

Everything was lovely. The house was very comfortable in a very quiet street. Luddenden is a beautiful quaint village. I loved it.
I would have expected a microwave oven in the kitchen which was a bit odd. Also only 1 roll of toilet paper for 5 nights was also very strange.

Fantastic location. Comfortable cosy house with excellent facilities. Extremely clean, lovely decor and very comfy beds. Dog friendly. Wi-Fi included. Parking for one vehicle directly outside the property and lots more parking available on road just around the corner. Lovely pub in the village just a few minutes walk, with friendly staff and locals. Easy collection of keys on arrival from key safe next to the front door. Very good communication via email with owner. A true home from home. Highly recommended.
Nothing.

Our visit to the Little Red Holiday home was just for 2 nights and we wished it could have been longer. It's a lovely place to stay and very cosy and cute with everything you may need. It's location is perfect, we fell in love with the village of Luddenden and the local pub is a must visit. Perfect location for exploring and walking. We enjoyed visits to Hebden Bridge especially. Communication with the owner was really good and instruction were easy to follow and straightforward. We will be booking again soon!

The location and house was quiet, peaceful, cozy and comfortable. Exactly what I was looking for. Plenty of walks and the scenery was stunning. The Host, Ben, was very helpful 🙌
The road block in the village was a bit inconvenient. Booking.com were suppose to send me a message to my account in regards to the pin code to open the keylock but I didn't receive it. I had to call the Host to get the code which was inconvenient for the both of us. All in all it didn't spoil our stay.

The property was clean, comfy and the decor was lovely.
Due to road closures, it was tricky to find and live TV didn’t work.

We had a lovely stay here. House was very clean and cosy. Everything you need, even a coffee machine which came in handy :) Great for children too! We stayed here for our son's birthday as we were taking him to Eureka children's museum which is 10 minutes away. Ben was a fantastic host throughout our stay. Overall we had a great time, I definitely recommend!!
The road to the property has been blocked off for over a year neighbours tell me. So it was difficult to find it. The country roads you have to use are steep. If you do not have a 4x4 and arrive in the evening... it isn't the easiest I am afraid. But doable. ps, google maps are accurate, apple maps haven't been updated so it takes you to the road which is blocked off.

Really nice cottage. Very clean and comfortable, great location. Host available if you have any questions. And pet friendly as well! It even felt cosy in the middle of January :)
Driving into Luddenden Village is a little bit hair-raising on narrow country lanes, but once you are there it is a lovely location. Also fairly easy to get to Halifax for shopping.

we were booked for 3 nights but only stayed for 1 so it would be unfair to review this property fully. It is clean, in a lovely area but I think “luxurious” is stretching the description.
Parking is on road on a cul de sac which can be challenging depending on the space other people leave. However, you can park on the main road as there is no through traffic because both ends of the road are blocked off. Depending on which side you approach the property the route in is a couple of miles of walled, single road. Good luck as to where you meet oncoming traffic on this route.

Cosy cottage, lovely decor and beautiful location.
Could of been a few dishwasher tablets, more toilet rolls left
