Newly Renovated Penn Yan Apartment < 1 Mi to Lake!

There were screens in only 1 window. When windows were opened to allow a cool breeze, flies also flew in. We were comfortable without any airconditioning, but if our stay had been during a warmer time, it may have been stuffy or hot in the apartment

It was close to downtown and had everything we needed.

The apartment did not appear to be newly renovated, as described in the ad. The windows could not open well, and some not at all, appeared to be broken. There were cobwebs on the windowsills and spiders on them. This was a shame because the summertime has beautiful weather and it would be nice to be able to open the windows for fresh air. The only window we could figure out how to open had to be propped up. The dehumidifier was very loud but clearly necessary as there was some moisture damage in the ceiling. The walls especially in the bathroom and near light switches need to be scrubbed of dirt/residue. The kitchen light switch was completely hidden behind the microwave. Front door should have an extra deadbolt and some of host’s belongings remained near entryway, including loose batteries. Would not recommend this location for young children.
