Lovely place for a summer stay

The property was clean and fresh milk/eggs left for us which was a nice touch. Friendly and welcoming owners..

The property was very very cold despite the heating being on non-stop, unfortunately the radiators wouldn't get anything more than lukewarm - this is obviously a known issue as there was a portable heater and got water bottles, but still a very cold property.

Another lush trip

This is the second time I’ve stayed here - first as a couple and now with friends. The location is gorgeous - farm animals around and saw a fox and a woodpecker. The hosts were friendly and left us our own space. Well located for wastwater and we had an amazing meal in Nether Wasdale at the local pub. I’ll probably be back! Comfortable, clean, well located.

Amazing accommodation, lovely hosts, great small working farm amongst amazing views

I thought the accommodation was superb. Nice little touches were hot water bottles on the beds (not that we needed them as the property was warm). Our hosts were great, the views were amazing especially from the double bed bedroom. Bathroom was large, water flow for a bath (after a long walk) was fantastic. And although it is a working farm we were not woken up by farm noises from the chickens, ducks or turkeys as they were still in the barns or coups at 8am.

Cosy cottage

Beautiful location on a working farm. Felt like home, very comfortable. Great views. Lots of space, good cooking facilities. Easy to get to, no narrow roads that you can barely fit a car into! But nicely remote too.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The house was very comfortable and there were some nice walks around the area.

Beautiful cozy house with lovely views of the farm and mountains. Claire made us feel very welcome and even provided us with fresh milk and eggs from her farm which was a lovely gesture.

We had a wonderful stay at this charming farmhouse. The house itself is full of character, spotlessly clean, and equipped with everything you could possibly need for a comfortable break. The setting is peaceful and scenic, with lovely countryside views, yet it’s only a short walk into the village. What makes this place truly special is its location, it’s the perfect base for Scafell Pike, as it is just a short drive away, making early starts for hiking really easy. After a day of walking, coming back to the warmth and tranquillity of the house felt like such a treat. If you’re looking for a cozy, well-located stay with both comfort and charm, especially if you plan to tackle Scafell Pike this accommodation is absolutely ideal. We’d highly recommend it and would love to return!

Fabulous

Really comfortable, peaceful and homely cottage in a stunning location close to sea , Lakes and mountains. Views from cottage are beautiful. Very thoughtful extras-Loved hotties and blankies! Clare and her family were so welcoming and gave us eggs and milk which was a lovely start to our stay. Would highly recommend!

Perfect base camp for climbing Scafell Pike

The property was perfectly located for climbing Scafell Pike. It stayed cool in the heat. It had a bath so we could soak away our aches and pains. The hosts provided a couple of extra eggs for our breakfast when we asked. The location was beautiful and the animals made it feel very Beatrix Potter.

Nothing about the property. It was a shame there were no food delivery companies in the area when we were shattered from our climb, but we found take out nearby.

We enjoyed the fresh eggs thank you and all the extras. Beautifully equipped cottage and outlook amazing especially with the thunder and lightning. Will certainly come again

Such a treat! Stunning Property

Stunning cottage in beautiful surroundings, exceptionally clean and well equipped. Very comfortable beds, and great facilities. Our hosts were so helpful and welcoming before and during our stay. Milk and fresh eggs provided on arrival and plenty of tea, coffee, sugar available. Nothing was too much trouble. Gosforth village has some gorgeous restaurants and the beach and Scarfell Pike are just a few minutes away. Our children loved staying on the farm, there is a swing set but more importantly some beautiful animals. They absolutely loved it! Highly recommended! We will be back!

This was an excellent trip. The cottage is small but beautifully kitted out. Everything you could want is provided with lots of special touches. Very very cosy. Communication beforehand with the owner was great too. Excellent location for Scafell Pike.

Christmas break in Wasdale

Friendly hosts and quiet location. The kitchen facilities were really good. Beds were comfortable. We really appreciated the milk, duck eggs, shortbread and jams. We liked seeing the ducks on their daily walkabout. Parking was easy.

It was perfect in every way! Beautiful location, central for Scafell Pike, which we climbed, the little touches made it special. Clare was so friendly and welcoming - fresh eggs and milk on arrival - it's on a working farm but so very tranquil. Beds were very comfortable and cottage had everything you'd expect and more - cannot wait to return

Short break at Rainors Farm cottage.

This cottage has a really cosy feel ,it is fully equipped, nicely decorated with really good attention to detail and in a really beautiful location.We really appreciated the warm welcome and genuine interest into how we were finding our stay.It was great to have milk,eggs and tea and coffee etc provided.It was amazing to wake up and look out at the sheep and goats in the field and to be a 5min drive to Gosforth's bakery and general store.

There wasn't anything we didn't like. We regretted not being able to have stayed for longer.

A peaceful retreat in a quaint, charming cottage.

We loved the location, such a stunning part of the Lake District. The Host was really friendly and helpful and the accommodation was spotlessly clean and very well equipped. Lots of appreciated extras such as fresh milk and eggs, lots of comfy blankets and towels ready, hot chocolate, coffee, tea, biscuits and juice. Our children loved the games and dvds available to use too!

Awesome location! The cottage has great views of the mountains, and is just down the road from Wastwater. It's so nice to be able to look out the windows and see fields of sheep and a landscape that goes for miles. The cottage is really well located for lots of great places to visit. The accommodation is lovely. Super comfy beds, well equipped kitchen, and very cosy and clean. Clare is a great host, very attentive and it's such a nice touch to leave eggs and milk for us.

The cottage was lovely! a lot more spacious in the bedrooms than expected but the location for a Scafell Pike Hike was ideal. There were also lovely pubs with amazing food in the area.

Lovely stay!

Beautiful cottage a little off the beaten track. Amazing views in the middle of a working farm. Clare and family obviously work very hard. Very cosy and well equipped. Excellent value. We booked very last minute and stayed with our teenages and dog for 2 nights. 5 min drive to the village with shop & a couple of pubs. Dog friendly. Wifi was a little patchy but this gave us all a chance to properly switch off! We can't wait to return.

nice place to stay away from home!

the property is located in a quiet location good for people who don’t like the noise of the city. great Mountain View just in front of the house. Inside the cottage is nice period decors which added to the coziness of the place. The owner provided all you need from the kitchen, bedroom, toilet and many other small things you might need- there’s some for the doggy too!
