RED PEARL BEACH RESORT

Couldn’t fault this place. Rooms were great and cleaned daily, staff were friendly and helpful, they assisted us hiring bikes and got a good deal, arranged transport back to ferry when we left. Amazing sunset view from private beach. Lovely food, lovely cocktails! Pool was great annd anlways quiet. Away from everything but 5 mins on bike to the shops and restaurants. Would stay here again. Wonderful experience:)

Some loose pool tiles but as an adult this had no impact on our stay

Nearby building work (not terrible and temporary)

Beautiful bungalows with besutiful scenery. Nice veranda. Premises are kept clean and neat, pool also enjoyable. Enough places to sit & relax. Area beautiful but challenging to traverse - need reasonsble good driving skills. Seaview but due to ankle-breaking rocks, not usable, not even walking. Can see Chaloklum beach just accross the river, but not easy reachable (ideal would be a way to cross over the river). Room nice size with good bathroom. Wifi good. Lots of staff but communication was difficult.

First resort in many years that I visited that does not have a small safe. Bed & linen bad quality - if you dont sleep well .... No TV or kitvhen appliances. Sachet coffee provided but no milk (not even  powdered milk). Baby fridge is smaller than a bar fridge and probably cost the same. They have scimped on things that should earn them no more than 2 stars. Next to the  bungalows are long-tail boats - some leaving 4am, that wakes even the dead.

Decent location, but you need transport. Great if you want privacy with your loved ones.

It reminded me of my youthful travels when I knew to check everything. You need to check bungalow well to make sure it's ok before you take it since some are in need to maintainance. Swampy area, good if you are a entomologist. Bring big spray so as to not get too many mosquito bites.
