Willow Cottage

Beautifully decorated with a lovely garden. Perfect for a family break. The bed was very comfortable. Nice central location for the south and west Lake District.

Nowhere to put toiletries in the shower and the bath towels were a bit skimpy.

The back yard scene was amazing Very nice place to relax at Friendly people

As the cottage is on a main road it is tricky when parking. The garden is communal with about 4 other properties. Unfortunately while we were there for our stay there was builders in the cottage next for and we could hear everything with a 7:30am start which did affect our stay

The cottage is clean and cute with everything you need to cook etc. The pub is friendly and the location is great for exploring the area. Beautiful back garden down to the river - would be really lovely in nice weather. We very much enjoyed the stove, which made the lounge v cosy. The duvets are lovely but the pillows are flat so bring your own if you're particular about pillows. The plug-in radiators in the lounge and first floor bedroom warm things up really quickly if you need them so that's good. Bring another little heater if you are bothered by cold and want to use the top floor room.

The shower is not great, which is the main issue I had with the cottage sadly as the water pressure is so low if you want any heat and the bathroom itself is cold as there is no heating in there. Any other niggles are easy to address - the owner has clearly addressed some other issues brought up by previous reviewers, but I'm not sure if the water pressure is something that can be fixed. It's a shame you can't control the heater timers as everyone has different needs.
