Hôtel Le Père Léon

Brilliant!

The room was spacious, for what I paid, comfy, clean, and quiet. The bathroom was a little awkward, in terms of how it was laid out, but the rain-fall shower head was great. The staff were very friendly and offered some great suggestions about things to see in Toulouse. The breakfast was all good of what I could eat.

The receptionists have to lock the front door when they leave the desk, which is understandable, but you also have to leave your room key each time you leave the hotel, so if you come back to the hotel when the receptionist isn't there, you have to wait outside until they return. Have a few more options in the breakfast for those with dietary needs.

Front desk staff was wonderful-helpful, kind and friendly

The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The room was cute and tidy - I found the bed to be very comfortable. The location was amazing - right off the Esquirol metro stop. It was very easy to get to via public transportation from the airport. It was close to many major historic cites, museums, tourist activities, etc. The location could not have been better.

While the room was clean, it doesn't appear that they've ever cleaned the shower head. There was so much mineral deposit buildup that many of the nozzles were clogged or didn't work properly. Toulouse also seems to have a bit of a homeless problem and many of them own dogs (some of them have several dogs). A group of them like to stay in the alley next to the hotel and throughout the night, the dogs would start barking. One reason I booked this hotel was that under its amenities, 'Soundproof' was listed. The balcony door was definitely not soundproof. I didn't get one full night of sleep here, and while the staff did their best to deal with this, it's worth noting for other people looking at this property. I didn't feel unsafe at any point going in or out of the hotel, but the noise caused by all of the dogs was a bit much.
