The price point

It was clearly evident that someone had been in the property when we were out! When we arrived we unplugged the plug socket covers and left them on the kitchen worktop (they are a hazard because they expose the live wires under the facia which aren't exposed when things aren't plugged in). When we arrived home after our day out we found that they had been plugged back in! This is a huge invasion of privacy and I'm glad we took any/all personal documents with us while we were out! The host messaged me on the day of the booking saying that there was a noise detection device, a.k.a a MICROPHONE, in the property to check if we were having largeparties. This made us feel incredibly uncomfortable but we didn't have any other choices for accommodation at that point as it was a busy weekend in Leeds. I'm willing to forgive a lot of things given the price. However, there were basic necessities that clearly hadn't been provided. I was in a group of 4 adults, exactly as I had stated through the reservation. There were only two mid-sized towels so we weren't all able to have a shower. Also, the water pressure was quite poor. This could have been resolved partially by tightening up the shower pipe with a spanner as it was leaking a lot when in use. None of the interior doors could be closed and there wasn't a latch on the bathroom door either. One of the bedroom doors had clearly been ripped off its frame as the broken pieces of the door had several long screws patching it back together. The fibreboard housing around the boiler was held together with tape and fell off when we were unpacking. The springs in the mattresses were clearly visible in the surface of the mattress which made for a very uncomfortable sleep. Also the bedsheets were all saturated in detergent/fabric softener so all of the bedsheets had a waxy texture. The photos that actually reflected the state of the property were at the back of a 50 photo album.

At all costs dont waste your money

NOTHING. There is no positive e to this accommodation

It is not cheerful, it's depressing, it was just so awful we left 24 hours early to come home. It's dirty, badly maintained and it's been the absolute worst place I've ever stayed. We weren't looking for luxury but a CLEAN comfortable place for the weekend. The property is badly badly maintained and I'm angry as I feel that I've been conned out if hard earned cash. The ' host' offered to approve if I wanted to cancel within 30 minutes but when your in a city you don't know and you dont know when you would get any refund its not helpful. Anyone looking at this, DONT, it's filthy, and certainly not cheerful or comfortable. This booking website really needs to start checking the places they advertise. I won't be using booking.com again. But please do t waste your hard earned cash on this joke of accommodation

Breakfast not provided but everything needed to make it was there. Lovely big kitchen including dining area. I also was impressed with the owner's quick and courteous response to phone calls.

Sound monitoring devices mentioned after booking made us uncomfortable.

The house was easy to find and was in a quiet neighbourhood. The bed was comfortable and the sheets/linen felt clean and new. Extra pillows were provided without needing to ask. The back door (main guest entrance) had two interior locks that weren't accessible from the outside which gave a nice feeling of security, however, the front door was accessible to guests, but without any control over its locks.

We were informed by the host a few hours before arrival that there was a "sound monitoring device" inside the house, apparently to alert the host of any rule-breaking large gatherings. Despite the host telling me that it wouldn't record voices and only alerts to continued loud noise over a 10 minute period, my partner and I felt very uncomfortable with this and worried about other possible devices - Had I known about this device, I would not have paid for or stayed at this property. The was no parking on-site, so to speak, only unmarked parking along the street next to the house. The front door was accessible to guests, but without any control over its locks.

Disappointing

The property was clean, despite being very run down. When we contacted the property manager, he was very helpful.

The property is very different from the picture provided online. All the furniture in the living room is completely different and there were not enough chairs for all 5 of us to sit in there. We booked the property for 5 people (2 adults and 3 children) but there were also only 4 seats at the dining table (a 5th was provided when we contacted the property manager). There were also no sheets provided for the fold out bed in the lounge (these were offered when we contacted the manager but we had brought our own anyway). The entire property is functional and clean but very tired and in need of renovation.

Clean, convenient to reach, had everything we needed.

Lovely comfy beds, really well stocked kitchen- everything you would need. Area was quiet, good bus links to the city centre. Host responded to our queries really quickly. Great for the price!

Could do with more places to sit in the living room. The shower is quite hard to turn on and there’s no lock on the bathroom door.

I thought it had been robbed… there was literally a tiny 2 seater sofa, I chair and a tv in the lounge. There was a fridge freezer right outside the property on the pavement and it was extremely ‘basic’ it was as far from being ‘cheerful’ as you could possibly imagine!

The place was clean and neat very close to Tesco and Aldi .. It was a clean place to stay for a short stay .

The toilet door didn’t have a lock from inside so it didn’t lock properly .They didn’t provide sugar and coffee .

Furniture felt like it was about to fall apart and not very comfortable. There was a bathroom cabinet that nearly fell on my sons head when he was about to open it. The lounge floor felt sticky and there was out of date food in the kitchen cupboards. We didn't actually stay the night and went and booked into a hotel instead.

A Cheerful Review

House is in a self-contained area in Leeds with easy accessibility to main shops to meet your essential needs. The residence was warm, clean, spacious, and equipped with a range of products and appliances to keep the space clean.

The only slight issue was the wooden edges around the bed in the main front room - a bit painful when crawling out. Beds, however, were super comfortable.
