Modern Apartment

Rude staff and a remote controller with no batteries on night arrival (a Friday at 9pm), so no Olympic Games. Stuff only reachable via WhatsApp chat, never answered for the 24/7 phone number. The Garage has been prepaid, but it didn’t work. Asked to fix, they never replied and refused to refund the 2-night parking spot. Saturday at 10am, after asking again about new batteries for the remote, they were very rude and replied, “to follow their instruction immediately” (I was almost in the shower), to go in another room to pick up the batteries. Once asked to have the batteries in my room, Again, they started to push me to go to the other room, or no batteries would have been delivered. I obviously save all the screenshots of the chat, so if they try to deny it, I will publish all the chat on Google reviews. So they told me that my name has been blacklisted at all ICON hotels, as if I would ever think of giving money to such terrible service again. Booking offered me a partial refund/bonus after ICON refused to provide any compensation, not only for the non usable TV in the apartment, but not even for the unusable Garage spot. So if you want to avoid being asked to fix some inefficiency in your apartment alone, going to another room, even on Saturday morning, I discourage you from booking ICON, at least in Lugano.

If not for the bed, the ICON H review could have been an 8 to 10 rating

The rooms were super clean and very nice. The kitchenette was stocked well with dishes and utensils, glasses, etc. Everything we needed for our weekend. More than enough cupboard space for your belongings. The helpful and friendly staff were immediately available on phone to get our key situation sorted, which was nice. We didn't have to wait to get into our room.

The mattress in our room was a horrible disappointment. Relatively thin and we could feel our backs digging into some hard surface underneath. That alone cannot justify calling these appartments as "luxury suites", etc. If you are a finicky sleeper, then think twice about this place. We'll never come back.

⚠️ Misleading Listing & Poor Management – Avoid This Property!

I booked what was advertised as a modern, high-quality apartment at ICON H in Lugano, but what I received was completely different — outdated, poorly maintained, and not properly cleaned. The listing photos did not reflect the apartment I was given, and there was a clear bait-and-switch. When I raised this with the property, they insisted it was the correct apartment and refused to provide an alternative. I had no choice but to leave after just 20 minutes and urgently find new accommodation on a Sunday evening — a completely avoidable and stressful situation. To make matters worse, they rebooked the same apartment to another guest after I left, yet still refused to fully refund me or the second reservation in our group, which was directly affected. Despite multiple attempts to resolve the issue, including through Booking.com, the management remained uncooperative and dismissive. I’ve since filed a formal complaint with Swiss authorities and a chargeback with my credit card company. I strongly advise others to avoid this property — what you see online is not necessarily what you’ll get, and you may find yourself without support if things go wrong.

Supplies for minimum higiene items was short , e.g: toilet paper, garbage bags , etc, is not about the cost cause they are cheap anyway , but as convenience features , should have been more , also after five nights , clean towels should have been well received , we had to clean and dry ours

Living and eating like a local in a very cozy apartment.

Very clean. Well equipped (tea, coffee, olive oil). Close to university (very easy to take public transport). Best cappuccino just about 5 min walk (elly bar) and very good croassaint in patisserie. Lidl and migros just around the corner. To resume: it’s a little bit far from the center of Lugano, but gave us the sense of living like a local and not a tourist. We will return.

The curtain in the bathroom give the sensation that people outside can look through. But, besides that, nothing else.

Very loud!! Lots of families with little children, without supervision, running and screaming on the hallways. No immediate response from management. It’s like the building was abandoned, without any oversight, nor security. POOR MANAGEMENT NO ONE EVER PICKS UP THE PHONE!!

Modern Air Conditioned Apartment in Lugano

Liked the space, the washing machines and dryers in basement, the fact that I could leave my bags in a storage room (unlocked though); small gym had free weights I needed; kitchen was adequate, though needed a toaster! TV was good (apps) once I found the hidden remote (under the couch cushion in a crevice). Wifi worked. Once I figured it out, app to open doors was convenient and I put it on 2 phones. Lidl nearby. Air conditioning worked well as long as I kept the curtains pulled and it was HOT outside, so that was great.

Not the prettiest area, though close to grocery stores and the tennis club (10 min walk) and a gas station/small grocery store that was open on Sundays. No instructions on anything, garbage had to be put into nonexistent red bags which I finally found at coop in the flower/tobacco department. No soap to wash dishes, so I bought some and sponges. Figuring out phone app was a bit tricky.

Clean & comfortable, kitchen utensils need better maintenance.

Property is in a quite part of town, walking distance to Lugano Parco Ciani (15-25 min, depending on you pace) and another 5 min to the center/promenade. It was clean, although nobody cleaned the room for 3 nights that we stayed there. Bed was comfortable, sofa bed better than you topically find but not as comfy as a bed. Washer + dryer in the room, work fine. Balcony concept allowed for privacy (see official pictures of the property and you’ll know what I mean).

Noise dampening was very limited, heard ppl next door very well. Frying pans were non-stick (Teflon) and very scratched up, handles wobbly, had to spend 10min tightening everything up with a Swiss Army knife before being able to cook something (if you have 2 hungry kids, 10 min is veeeery long).

relatively central location in Lugano (about 15 Minutes by foot to the center), very spacious Appartement. Everything was clean and the appliances where working and in good shape. Will definitely use this gain.

The area is nice and the restaurant on the ground floor is also good The apartment was clean, and the kitchen is enough for a couple of days away from home.

doors are very loud when closed, so you'll hear every time one of the neighbours leaves or enter their unit. The procedure to get the key door was very cumbersome, had to signup to 2 or 3 different services to download an app to the door. And I'm not sure it's the best system, if you're phone runs out of battery you're locked out

Nice apartment, sufficient place for a whole family for good value of money

We were ok with the location. It is a bit further from the lake, but it wasn`t a disturbingly long walk and we also found a great glace shop. The apartmant and the flat are modern with good design. Our place had one bedroom and the whole place was sufficient for 2 adults and 2 children. We got response pretty fast from customer service.

I think this mobile key is a bit complicated at first sight, but actually it worked well. We wanted to use the microwave but it was a non-Swiss version and there was no adapter available, so it made our life difficult to heat milk for our littlest daughter (we reported it on the first day and was promised to send one adapter, but never happened in 4 days). I think it must be clearly let the guest know who is responsible for cleaning the cutlery or who should rid off the garbage as there was no red bag left in the flat (but description in the elevator says it is not allowed to leave garbage in the flat) despite we are charged by 145 CHF for cleaning originally. We washed everything as we couldn´t know who should do that... I also felt pretty aggressive manner how the initial payment was handled by the hotel, receiving dozens of emails to unable to charge my credit card despite my CVC code was registered properly and it always worked for other hotels. So I thought I was scammed at the first sight...

Great studio for a comfortable stay in Lugano

Great place - our stay exceeded our expectations. The place was compact, clean, but well equipped. The balcony is perfect for morning coffee bathed in sun. We also had access to common spaces like coworking and gym which was super helpful as we both are freelancers.

The app key system is a bit inconvenient - sometimes you need to repeat it couple of times, and to start with you need to download an app on your phone.
