Quiet and comfortable stay

We loved the fabulous quiet surroundings, the clear directions given by our hosts, the appearance of the beautiful loft and hot tub area. The cottage was clean and spacious- perfect for our cosy night in. The beds were comfortable and the quiet surroundings made for an excellent night's sleep. The outside area was well kept, with the lovely lights and seating area beside the hot tub. We can't wait to go back again.

A peaceful, private stay with a super comfy bed and a lovely hot tub — a perfect little escape.

We had an absolutely lovely stay at The Lift at the Rock Cottage. The bed was incredibly comfortable and made for a perfect night’s sleep. The hot tub was spotless and perfectly set up — ideal for relaxing in the evening with a view. What we really appreciated most was how private and peaceful everything felt. We were left completely to ourselves with no stress or interruptions, just pure calm and comfort. It was exactly the quiet getaway we needed. Highly recommend!

If I had to mention one small downside, the toilets are downstairs, and to get to the hot tub you have to go down and walk across loose stone chips, so you’ll want to wear shoes going to and from it. It’s only a minor inconvenience though, and honestly such a small thing compared to how relaxing and enjoyable the whole experience was. Would definitely stay again!

Jill messaged me from before our stay and was kind and welcoming. I explained this was for Marc’s birthday and that we would both be working hard over the Christmas period and we couldn’t wait to relax. And then she offers massages and I think I’m in heaven! The day before arrival she checks in to confirm my massage and gives details of access, leaves her mobile number. We arrive and she had a happy birthday ballon, a bottle of fizz, sweets and cake with a candle! Marc was over the moon. The place was tidy and comfortable with an amazing view My massage with Jill was heaven on earth! So kind and welcoming, I think I fell asleep 😴the sign of an excellent treatment. I was so relaxed and felt like jelly I wanted to sleep lol so had a quick shower and got dressed. Jill recommended a local restaurant the Brown Trout and it also didn’t disappoint. Beautiful setting, country welcome and wood fires. What else do you want when it’s snowing?! The food was outstanding and the rib eye steak cooked to perfection! Every mouthful was heaven! We returned home, had a few drinks and the snow really started. We couldn’t resist the romance of the location and had to jump in the hot tub and again this experience just kept getting better! I highly recommend a hot tub in the snow, what an experience! Netflix and Prime galore on the TV, a few more drinks and we settled in for the night. We left early the next morning as the snow continued much to our disappointment. This would be an amazing base to go on an adventure in the country, everyone was welcoming and friendly! Thank you Jill for a wonderful stay, we will definitely be back 🥰☃️xx

The tranquil Loft

The quiet and tranquil location was lovely. The hot tub was amazing and the non-contact check-in was good.

There was only one large bath sheet in bathroom for 2 people to share. So we had to dry on radiator to reuse. And outside behind hot tub there were a few used containers lying on ground

Disappointing

Peaceful surroundings and hot tub made the stay

There was only enough room for 2 or 3 people as it's very small , so shouldn't really advertise that it sleeps 4 to 5 people!!! The stairs are too steep to go up and down especially with luggage dont recommend if you have a disability and toilet and shower was downstairs so a lot of running up and down to do, there was a big double bed took up a good bit of the room and a single chair that pulled out as a bed, there is a table and four chairs but no where else you could sit, also no single beds as show in pics just 2 single mattresses only for the floor which is not acceptable for that type of money!! Were were all squashed and no room to move especially for 4 adults!!! ....coffee machine didnt work....no black bags left for rubbish and no washing-up liquid for dishes or bleach/toilet duck to clean toilet with!! No windows opened in the loft except for patio door so condensation was wild!! There was TV with Netflix you need your own code tho, the hot tub was what made the stay it was lovely, only down fall was it did covered your head but a very cold wind blows in from the fields so it would have been good to have screen round the sides, the ash tray wasnt emptied and chairs had no covers as it was raining so they were all wet, the owners house is right beside you so too close for me, we didnt get to meet the owners as they didnt come over we got a little lost finding the place so got there a little later, but again it's just your own preference really!! But for those reasons I wouldn't stay again!!! I dont think it was worth that amount of money for no beds as it was a treat for Mothers Day and to be squashed like that ruined it for me.....i did message the owner to tell her but her reply was sorry you felt that way!!! 😔
