it was very spacious and comfortable it’s exactly what it looks like in the photos and it’s a very good location and it’s close to town
the shower was very confusing to figure out at first and the apartment was freezing, the heating didn’t work too well but it still warmed up a little other then that it was great

Location is brilliant. It’s walking distance to the train station and very close the shops and faces in town. It’s a lovely apartment with well stocked kitchen utensils, plates and cups.
It was cold when we arrived and there are no visible instructions in the property, nor in the welcome email on how to turn on the heating. The telephone numbers provided were not in service however the messaging service through the booking.com app was very responsive. We got the boiler turned on and the place warmed in no time. Although there’s no visible thermostat so it’s either on or off.

Good location in town, spacious, comfortable. Mostly very clean
- entry corridor is a bit musty, could do with a power clean maybe on the carpet
- the door for entry feels a little bit insecure. Mostly glass with a lock that is coming a bit loose
- the cleaner left cleaning supplies in one of the bedrooms and someone left frozen pizza in freezer. Not a big deal
- the standing shower didn’t work

Our experience with this large apartment was decidedly mixed. It is in a small complex of apartments at the end of a wedge-shaped plot with one-way streets on either side. You definitely need a car to stay here: the neighbourhood is entirely residential, and the nearest restaurant (in the local hotel) and the nearest food store (beyond that) are a long walk away. But with a car, we were well placed to drive easily to the fabulous sights of the Antrim coast.
The apartment is up a flight of stairs, and is a great space, with a large kitchen-living room area with comfortable couches, pretty views, extensive cabinets, appliances and a puzzlingly large stash of liquor. Three friends like us can each have their own bedroom, though one of them has two twin beds instead of one large one. It could be a space to be happy in.
The main problem was that there was insufficient heat and no hot water. There was something wrong with the boiler in the kitchen cupboard—it showed an Error message, as we found when he got wi-fi and looked it up—and we didn’t have heat except for an electric radiator in the foyer (on a different level than the living quarters), which was desirable, or hot water, which was important, for the three days of our visit. We had to heat water in the electric kettle, pour it into the bathroom washbasin and have a sponge bath, but obviously that's unacceptable.
We communicated with the booking.com and the managers by e-mail and phone, but nobody ever came to look into the problem while we were there. Their concept of trying to help quickly was to send us a YouTube link about how to fix a similar problem. Which didn't work, by the way. No doubt this would be totally unacceptable for most renters, even for a day, but we are a flexible lot and managed to improvise. We can't emphasize too much to the owner that we did not get full value for our money and would like at least an apology.
There were some other things we found less satisfying. Least of these was that there are absolutely no curtains or blinds in the kitchen-living room area, so that after dark many windows of opposite houses, and perhaps passing cars, could command a view of our activities. (The bedroom blinds are fine.) Next, this was one of the apparently now-common bookings where there is no contact with the owners, and their instructions were unclear in some ways. At first we thought that the downstairs door couldn’t be locked, and we couldn’t find the wi-fi from the vague description in the e-mail. The lock expert among us finally did manage to lock the door, and another of us finally (after one night in the house) found the wi-fi router lurking unconnected in an inconspicuous place by a bedroom baseboard. So that was all right, sort of.
